Today, we celebrate all mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures whose love and strength have shaped our lives. We also hold close those who are missing their mothers or grandmothers today, honoring the memories they cherish.

We are especially thankful for the wonderful mothers and grandmothers who call Lakeview home, and for the dedicated mothers on our team who care for others each day with compassion and love.

✂️✨ Ambassador Visit – Building Blocks Learning Center & Child Care ✨✂️

Our Chamber Ambassadors were excited to visit the new Building Blocks Learning Center and Child Care space at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center — a project that truly reflects the power of community collaboration.

Thanks to incredible support from local donors, businesses, organizations, and Lakeview’s Board of Directors — including major contributions from partners like Mayo Clinic, the Rosen Family Foundation, Valero, and the Krahmer family — this much-needed project has become a reality.

This new space expands capacity to nearly 100 children, helping address the critical childcare shortage impacting families, businesses, and workforce growth across our region.

💬 As shared during the visit, childcare isn’t just a family need — it’s a workforce solution. Building Blocks is exploring partnerships with employers to provide flexible childcare options for their staff.

Deb Barnes, administrator of Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, is retiring after a long career spent in service. Barnes served at Lakeview for 12 of her 48 year career and in that time made a positive impact not just on Lakeview’s campus, but in the community.
