May is Mental Health Awareness month.
Not only do we encourage that you take time to rest and reflect, seek out connection with a friend, exercise, and have meaningful conversation for your own mental well-being, we also want to encourage you to be that friend, to extend some extra grace and empathy, and be a light to those around you.

Remember, you never know what someone may be facing or going through - we can't know all of where someone has been. But in kindness and our best attempt at showing mercy, we may very well be that bit of stability, that anchoring in a storm, that extended, open hand or outstretched arm that pulls someone up or holds someone close.

These lyrics come to mind when thinking of this. I hope you'll be encouraged in your own heart today, and inspired to brighten another in the days to come.

Remember this: you are not only surviving, enduring, for your own sake, and neither is the one you endure for. Some days it may feel like it is all you can do to carry on and to take one more breath. The worth in this is far more than you can see right now.

Shall we take a breath and survive a little longer together? Shall we imagine better futures and do so hand in hand?

I see no reason we should not.

Heavenly Father, thank you

Help us to cherish and protect
this gift, even in the midst of fear,

More than 12,000 unborn children died from abortion in Minnesota last year. That's a stunning 20 percent increase. And it's going to get worse: Lawmakers just passed laws establishing abortion-up-to-birth, abolishing a program supporting pregnant women, and even repealing a measure guaranteeing lifesaving care for newborns.

What can we do to restore protection for the vulnerable? MCCL is launching a new “Save the 12,000” series of meetings across the state. At each meeting, MCCL will update attendees about the extremism of Minnesota’s current laws. We’ll also provide pro-lifers with the tools they need to have confident and effective conversations that persuade others. And we’ll lay out practical steps everyone can take that will save lives.

All are welcome to these free events. Bring family, friends, church and school groups, and others. Each meeting will last just over an hour. Attendees will receive a packet of helpful printed materials that will enable them to immediately put to use all the training they receive.

The pro-life message—grounded in scientific fact, committed to human rights for all, and drenched in love for mother and child—is true and compelling. If we speak boldly and with compassion, we will impact our state for life!
