We’re excited to introduce Bob Wesley, the new Director of Nursing at Crest Manor! Bob shares what drives him, the experiences that guide his leadership, and his hopes for Crest Manor’s future. Read his Q&A below!

Q: Bob, can you tell us about your background and what led you to your role as Director of Nursing at Crest Manor?
A: "I’ve worked in healthcare for over 25 years, starting with 18 years in critical care. That experience gave me a strong foundation in patient-centered care and the value of teamwork in high-pressure settings. I later moved into nursing leadership and administration, combining clinical knowledge with broader organizational skills. I earned my nursing degree from Elmira College and an Executive MBA from RIT, which prepared me to lead with both compassion and strategy."

Q: You also served in the U.S. Navy. How did that experience shape your leadership style?
A: "My career began in the ICU at Bethesda Naval Hospital as a hospital corpsman, After 22 years in the Navy Reserves I retired as a Lieutenant Commander. The Navy taught me the importance of attention to detail, clear communication, and leading by example. Those lessons still guide me today. I believe strong outcomes come from strong teams, so I make it a priority to listen to frontline staff and use their input to drive meaningful improvements."

Q: Outside of your professional role, what continues to inspire your work in healthcare?
A: "I stay active with Honor Flight Rochester The American Legion, which is a way for me to give back to fellow veterans and stay connected to my roots. It reminds me of the importance of service and community. In my role here, I’m inspired by the chance to collaborate with staff, support residents, and keep raising the bar for clinical excellence."

Meet Alex Lawler, our new Administrator at Crest Manor! We sat down with Alex to talk about what inspires her, how her experience shapes her work, and her vision for the future of Crest Manor. Check out her Q&A below

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in long-term care?
A: "I grew up right here in the Pittsford–Fairport area, and my connection to long-term care started in high school when I volunteered in nursing homes. Those early experiences made a lasting impact on me and sparked a passion that’s guided my career ever since, one focused on quality, accountability, and truly putting people first."

Q: How has your background shaped your approach as Administrator at Crest Manor?
A: "My background in Human Resources and time as a Compliance Officer taught me the value of clear communication, building trust, and developing strong teams. That experience also gave me the tools to uphold high standards in both quality of care and regulatory excellence."

Q: What are your priorities for Crest Manor moving forward?
A: "I want to continue improving our quality measures, strengthening staffing, and creating a positive environment where residents and employees feel supported. This is my community, and Crest Manor is an important part of it. My goal is to help it thrive."

Whether you are here for short-term rehabilitation or long-term care, we are committed to each of our resident’s overall health and happiness. Crest Manor’s rehabilitation therapists align their goals with your goals, to get you strong again. Our daily calendar is filled with stimulating events to help our residents maintain a positive quality of life.

We are close to 490 east on 31F in an easily assesable area. Conveniently located next to lots of restaurants, medical practices and shopping.
