Perinton Ambulance

Perinton Ambulance This is the official page for Perinton Ambulance, serving the community since 1965!

Responding to calls for service around the clock, we answered over 5,200 requests in 2021. Beyond emergency response, we offer CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed training regularly. As an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site, we're aligned with Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. Our nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are available to inspect car seats on a regular or by appointment basis. Keep track of our next inspection station times by checking the Events tab regularly! Our loan cupboard offers temporary usage of mobility aids, including canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Some items are in heavy demand and are subject to certain restrictions; please call or visit our base to learn of current availability.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection saves lives.

Colorectal cancer is highly preventable and treatable when caught early. Know your risk. Know the symptoms. Get screened.

If you're 45 or older (or have risk factors), talk to your doctor about screening options. Your local EMS team is here to support your health and wellness journey.

Take action today. Schedule your screening. Your community is counting on you to stay healthy and prepared.

Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed reducing some payments by 20%. Her Executive Budget (HMH Part M) would cut the "Medicaid crossover" payments for certain patients in .

Here’s what that cut would do in plain terms: when a low-income senior or a person with a disability has Medicare, Medicare typically pays 80% of the bill. Medicaid helps cover the remaining 20%. Those “crossover” payments are that 20%.

If the state eliminates them, ambulance services would be stuck eating that unpaid balance—on top of Medicaid payments that already don’t cover the real cost of providing care. This would be a direct pay cut with no way to recover the lost revenue.

This is where YOU can make a difference: tell your local legislator(s) that ambulance services need MORE funding, not less! Please take a couple of minutes to send an email today. You can do it while waiting for your coffee order. Here's the link: https://takeaction.io/unyan/reject-proposed-medicaid-crossover-cut-for-ambulance-services-fy2027-2
