PERINTON AMBULANCE PARAMEDIC INJURED IN EARLY-MORNING PATIENT ASSAULT IN FAIRPORT.

Fairport, NY — Perinton Ambulance confirms that a member of our EMS team was injured while providing emergency medical care at approximately 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the Village of Fairport.

The incident occurred during patient care and involved an assault on our provider. The paramedic was evaluated, treated, and released. Out of respect for the privacy of our employee and the integrity of the ongoing investigation, Perinton Ambulance will not be releasing additional identifying details at this time.

“This is a difficult day for our organization,” said Robert Cieri, Director of Operations for Perinton Ambulance. “Our crews come to work to help people on their worst days. Violence toward EMS professionals is unacceptable. We will support our team member fully, and we intend to press charges in this matter.”

Perinton Ambulance is cooperating fully with local law enforcement as the incident is investigated. Operations are not impacted, and Perinton Ambulance continues to provide 24/7 emergency medical services to the Town of Perinton, the Village of Fairport, and surrounding communities.
