Qmetrics Technologies

Qmetrics Technologies See Beyond the Surface. Qmetrics delves deeper into medical imaging to discern more. What do you see when you have an ACL tear? A Medical Image can see much more.

Or when you daughter suffers a concussion playing hockey? How does your mother look when diagnosed with Alzheimer’s? MRI, X-Rays and CT capture the image of injury or disease from the inside and Qmetrics provides the view. As a trusted, worldwide leader in medical imaging analysis, Qmetrics has the capability to delve deeper into a medical image and detect abnormalities not easily visible to a human eye. Our proprietary software programs provide a unique look into the human body, transforming 2D MR images into colorful, 3D models of anatomic structures, which can be quantitated and manipulated for a greater understanding of disease and injury.

Qmetrics Technologies joins with others to recognize International Day of Radiology on November 8 with the aim of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care and improving public understanding of the vital role radiologists and radiographers play in the healthcare continuum. This day promotes the seismic impact of radiology on medicine – earlier detection, fewer surgeries, and game-changing treatment outcomes. November 8 was chosen as the recognition day because on that date in 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered the X-ray.

Qmetrics, led by Dr. Saara Totterman, a world-renowned radiologist, has been developing cutting edge technologies in medical imaging for 15 years. Through the use of 3D imaging and AI, Qmetrics helps clinicians and researchers see beyond the medical image to discern more useful information to help patients worldwide. Qmetrics Technologies joins others in recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October. The effects of domestic violence are varying, and one often overlooked outcome is the amount of traumatic brain injuries sustained by survivors. The New York Times highlighted this in a 2022 article, "The Hidden Epidemic of Brain Injuries From Domestic Violence. "https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/01/magazine/brain-trauma-domestic-violence.html. Qmetrics also encourages people to learn more about concussions in women from the resources at PINK Concussions.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and a good time to expand your knowledge of various types of brain injuries. Post-Concussive Syndrome (PCS) is the persistence of concussion symptoms beyond the typical course of recovery. Approximately 35% of people with concussion experience prolonged symptoms, three – six months after injury. Some cognitive symptoms of PCS include, but are not limited to, short-term memory loss, trouble concentrating, difficulty multi-tasking, lack of focus, and slow processing.

Usually, mild brain injuries are invisible, causing frustration among patients when medical providers dismiss their concerns. Qmetrics Technologies has developed the Post-Concussive Syndrome Index to provide an objective assessment of brain structural abnormalities in mTBI patients. This effectively enables doctors to “see” post-concussive injury in addition to assessing the patient’s symptoms and dysfunction. We hope this information will empower patients to know more about their injuries. Learn more here, https://www.qmetricstech.com/radiomics-ai-medical-image-analysis/discernai/.
