If you woke up this morning with a healthy child, you won the lottery of life!

I used to read quotes like that and just keep scrolling, now I feel them in my bones.

Today is Maddie’s birthday. Correction. Today SHOULD be Maddie’s birthday. Her tenth birthday. Double digits. But instead she isn’t here to celebrate. Isn’t here to grow up. Stuck being forever 6.

Today there are parents waking up in their kids hospital room. Today there are kids waking up to IV poles, treatments, fear, and long days ahead. But today, you can help!

Something as small as a gift, a toy, a book, a comfort item.. can change their entire day!

I know because I lived that for a whole year. I watched it happen with Maddie. A tiny stuffed animal became her comfort when she was scared. A coloring book distracted her during treatments. A silly little toy gave her something to smile about when everything else felt heavy.

Those “little things” were never little.They were everything.

So today, for Maddie’s birthday I’m asking you to help me give another child that same feeling. Let’s flood hospitals with birthday gifts with Maddie’s face stickers on them so that she can be remembered. Let’s go BIG for her 10th birthday.

No foolin, today starts the Mighty For Madison Toy Drive! Throughout the entire month of April we are collecting new unwrapped toys that will be distributed to children in area hospitals in need of joy. When Maddie was in the hospital, the toys she received were a big help and always put a smile on her face.

Maddie's birthday is April 16 but we're collecting toys all month!

Maddie's Easter Candy Sale
Our Maddie loved to bake and make chocolates with her Grandma. Chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered oreos, hot cocoa bombs. Before she got sick she wanted to start a business making and selling these chocolates. Now we're making her dream come true. We're going to defeat Childhood Cancer, one chocolate, candy, and truffle at a time!

We are gearing up for the Mighty for Maddie Birthday Toy Drive for the entire month of April. WE NEED BUSINESSES on the North side, West Side and South Side of Rochester to be drop-off locations for toys (we have Fairport and the east side covered!)! If you have a business in one of these area and want to be a drop-off location, we will drop off a box and posters to display at your location. You’ll also be listed in all our advertising! PM me if you’re interested, or you’re connected with a business that might.

Grandma, Pumpkin, Emerson and I having been busy shopping and putting together Valentine’s Day room kits for next year. We found some really good sales that let us get more things for the kids at the hospital! 🥰🥰🥰 (not pictured are the cute blankets that haven’t come in the mail yet!)
