Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17) 💜

This is the 10th year—and the theme, Rooted in Justice & Joy, says it all.

But let’s be real for a second…
Black maternal health is about more than just mom.

Partners matter. Support systems matter. Families matter.

We see a lot of images of Black mothers standing alone—and while that’s real for some, it’s not the full story. Not all Black moms are doing this solo. Black love, Black partnership, and present, supportive partners deserve to be seen too.

Because when we uplift the whole village, outcomes change.

Justice. Joy. And support that shows up. Always. 💫

Some moments never leave you 🤍

Welcoming this baby alongside such a compassionate, steady presence was an honor. Dr. Jamesine “Jamie”Williams made space for everyone in the room—including me—and that kindness meant everything.

Even in the operating room, doula support matters—providing calm, advocacy, and emotional grounding during some of the most vulnerable moments of birth. Dr. Williams spoke highly about the importance of having doulas in the OR.

Rest gently. Your impact will always be felt. 🕊️🙏🏽
