You’ve got to be kidding. Conversion therapy is harmful, unethical, and unacceptable—no matter what the Supreme Court says.

The American Counseling Association (ACA) is profoundly disappointed in today's ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Colorado's ban on conversion therapy. Despite the ruling, the evidence remains clear: conversion therapy is harmful, discredited, and unsupported by science, and its risks to client well-being are well documented. ACA, SAIGE and other leading mental health organizations remain committed to ethical, evidence-based, and affirming care, and will continue to oppose practices that violate these standards of care.

Like many in our community, I followed Cambree’s journey over the past few weeks and was deeply saddened to learn of her passing. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and everyone who loved her.

Loss like this can be incredibly hard to process. If you or your teen don't feel like you've got this, no worries, I've got you!

With heavy hearts, we share that our Precious Cambree passed away peacefully this afternoon

Cambree arrived at the hospital about three weeks ago, and during that time our family was surrounded by an incredible outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends, family, and the community. Unfortunately, her condition worsened over the weekend, and her challenges advanced at the beginning of this week.

Through it all, Cambree fought with remarkable strength and courage until the very end. She was deeply loved and will forever remain in our hearts.

Our family is profoundly grateful for the kindness, prayers, and compassion shown to Cambree and to all of us during this difficult time. Further information will be shared as we make arrangements.

💙 Please give the family space and privacy at this time. Also please be mindful that many many young people are going to be affected, and it is best for them to hear this from trusted adults in their lives, not social media.
