Dear 2020 Life Counseling LLC Clients & Partners,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the official closure of
2020 LifeCounseling LLC, effective December 31, 2023. After careful
consideration, we have made this decision to pursue new opportunities
and challenges.

Anycia will continue Therapists Counselors & Cocktails events. Follow for updates on 2024 events.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support
you have placed in us over the years. It has been a privilege serving
you, and we truly appreciate the relationships we have built.

During this transition, we are committed to ensuring a smooth process
for all our clients. Please note the following important details:

1. The last day of operation will be December 31, 2023.
2. All appointments scheduled after this date will be canceled.
3. For medical records and further assistance, please contact Anycia
Grady at 216.202.4528 no later than 12/29/23.
4. We recommend transferring your care to Mindfully and/or Grow Well and we can assist you in the transition process upon request.

Today was nothing short of a dream. To go from a 6 ft quiet therapy space to being in the same space networking with venture Capitalists, sharing my Seeking Supervision brand, and forming new formidable connections has been an experience.
Some of my favorite moments:
1) I met an individual who secured a $2 Million NIH grant for his tech and will pitch to Cincinnati Angel Investors in a week!
2) I met an Angel investor who was the most humble person with so much wisdom of why 1 out of 10 business succeed.
3) A woman from Buffalo who worked for the Keybank Sponsor gave wisdom beyond measure. She shared her story of her grandmother, who will be 103, who marched with King and saw Malcolm speak encouraging her to use her voice to speak up and out in spaces such as this because her grandmother's marching and the price our ancestors paid gave us as present day Black people permission to. She encouraged me to not play small and to speak up!
4) I have learned language and parts of business that I did not understand and when I inquired to what it meant, my lack of understanding was not judged but welcomed.

Thank you JumpStart Ventures JumpStart Inc. for hosting this event. It is definitely a space for individuals like myself who are breaking into the space and learning.

I am about a week away from June 5th and I am no where near my $25k Match Grant goal. But, I can attest it is not on an account of my not trying: soliciting my Board, posting on all social media threads, and outreaching multiple organizations & individuals I have encountered along this brief 3 month Journey and prior.

A few take aways:

Being new to the "macro" professional world it is a HUGE learning curve. Being introvert can be counter productive in this world as I get more energy from one on one interactions. Yet, I have made myself uncomfortable many times and meetings over the past 3 months for the sake of my mission.

I've learned your reach is only as grand as your network. Macro work requires a lot of networking as opposed to direct practice where its present but not in such a grand scalea. I had a conversation recently with someone privileged with a well endowed network regarding their fundraising efforts for their venture. Well, that's not my personal network. Some networks allow for the overflow of funding, some volunteers, and others a "You got this. I am proud of you" which is just as important when traveling this journey. I can say, that my personal goal is to continue building and furthering relationships in the community.

I can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink, meaning I can share all day the benefits and support of Seeking Supervision and contributing, but I can't create the turn around for someone to share a post or donate a dollar.

I am supposed to not take things personally, but I will share it is okay to feel disappointed when you have a passion for something and put in countless hours, but it is yet to manifest. I do know it will eventually.

I pondered why God placed an idea and this passion inside of an introverted Social Worker to which my SO shared to "force me out of comfort."

I like to sit and reflect on areas of opportunity for myself, and this is one of those moments. I am moving toward reconciled feelings of I did my best with what I know. And it is okay for how things transpire because I did my best and will continue to press forward because a "Delay is not a denial." More importantly, I have grown.

Please help me welcome Mandisa to the team! 💫

Mandisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who hails from Toledo, OH where she holds a master’s degree from the University of Toledo in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Having her bachelor's degree in theater, Mandisa brings a unique perspective to therapy as she understands the importance of being both authentic and present for every moment with her clients.

Her experience in the clinical setting includes reframing and identification of: negative thinking, identifying steps to be a more authentic version of one's self, and positive self talk/affirmations.
