When logic feels out of reach, emotional mirroring becomes your most powerful tool. Instead of trying to correct a confused thought or reason through a stressful moment, try simply reflecting their emotions back to them.

Why it works:
Validation: It lets them know they are heard and understood, even if the "facts" of the situation are blurry.

De-escalation: Acknowledging a feeling like sadness or frustration often helps it dissipate faster than arguing against it.

We have a packed calendar this month, and we can't wait to share these moments with our wonderful residents. From musical performances to scenic drives and ice cream socials, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Check out some of our April highlights:

Music for Seniors: Join us for live performances by Sheldon Kahan (April 7th), Laura White (April 14th), David Reed (April 21st), and Clay Lutz (April 28th).

Outdoor Adventures: We’re taking advantage of the beautiful weather with Scenic Drives (April 2nd and 30th), a Picnic in the Park for National Picnic Day (April 23rd), and regular Walking Club outings.

Social Fun & Treats: Don't miss our weekly Ice Cream Socials every Tuesday at 3:00 PM, and competitive rounds of B-I-N-G-O and Scrabble throughout the week.

Mind & Body: Keep moving with Joyful Joints and Sit N' Be Fit sessions, and keep your brain sharp with Daily Chronicles, Trivia, and Group Crosswords.

As more residents move in, we need more team members to care for them. We are looking for compassionate caregivers to assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating. This position requires direct, hands on care. You must be patient and compassionate.

While we are searching for experienced caregivers, we are willing to train a candidate with a heart for seniors and a willingness to learn.
