This is Dr. Hubbell speaking. I've been weighing the pros and cons of closing our doors versus keeping them open with smart procedures.

Ultimately, I decided that I'm going to keep my doors open during this crisis -- however long that might be -- but with modified working hours to reduce the necessity of my employees to have to come every single day. Additionally, it is important to me that I support the hospital and urgent care facilities of our city by helping those with back pain or neck. Those facilities will already have enough to worry about.

To safely prevent the spread of disease I've already implemented the following procedures:

1. Upon arrival at my clinic, you will be asked to wash your hands and have the option to use hand sanitizer in addition. Afterward, you will be given a pen and a clipboard that has been thoroughly sanitized.

2. We’ve spaced all patients by 15-minute increments so that we can help with social distancing and safely minimize unnecessary interaction with other patients.

3. Chairs in the waiting room have been spaced apart and reading materials removed. It is not my intention for anyone to wait but I believe every patient deserves all 15 minutes I can serve them. You can help by arriving at the time you are scheduled.

4. At this time, we are asking patients who are only seeking non-medical massages to wait until after this crisis has finished. If you are hurting due to injury or can’t function then please let us help you through. That is a medical problem. This especially is true if you or someone you know was in a motor vehicle accident since those types of injuries can be lifelong if left alone.

5. There will be a no-fault cancellation understanding. If you are sick then we will understand.

6. The schedule for this upcoming week will be 8:30 to 5:30 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be closed except for new serious injuries or motor vehicle accident patients.

Special announcement:

We are open and will remain open at this time to serve your neck and back needs.

We are implementing a few precautions to help fight the spread of disease.

1. You will be asked to use our hand sanitizer station before touching anything in the clinic. You are welcome to use the bathroom at your discretion. The staff is already trained to wipe down surfaces and keep their hands washed or sanitized.

2. If you feel ill then we encourage you to stay home and rest. If you must come then bring a mask or we will try to provide you one.
