🌟 September is Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month 🌟
Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) is a family of more than 200 lung diseases, all involving scarring of the lungs. This scarring makes it harder for oxygen to move into the bloodstream. More than 250,000 Americans are living with PF, with over 50,000 new cases diagnosed each year.
While there is currently no cure, there are many treatments that can help slow the progression, improve symptoms, and support quality of life. One of the most effective approaches is Pulmonary Rehabilitation — a structured program designed for those living with chronic lung diseases like PF.
💙 Pulmonary Rehab can improve:
✅ Physical function
✅ Breathing
✅ Mood & quality of life
It includes:
🏃 Exercise training
🌬 Breathing exercises
🧠 Stress, anxiety & depression management
🥗 Nutritional counseling
📚 Education
🤝 Support & socialization
If you’ve been diagnosed with PF and want to learn more about Pulmonary Rehabilitation at FRMC, please contact us — we’d love to work with you!
