I took the family to Water World today and tried my best to pretend I don’t have a job. I left my phone in a locker, put my watch on Do Not Disturb and tried to let my only concern be if I had reapplied my sunscreen. Running a business is tough and it can take over your life. I’m still learning and not always doing a good job of it, but I strive to find balance.

And you know what? No hashtags. 🤷‍♀️

Today I am subbing in a middle school classroom. Did you know that teaching school was my previous career?

Well, I’m back in the front of the classroom today with a great group of kids and just want to remind you of how hard our teachers work. I’ve noticed some less than generous feeling towards teachers lately and it saddens me. The vast majority of teachers are in this profession because they love and care for children. It disappoints me to know that there are people vilifying teachers and accusing them of having a political agenda in the classroom. Teachers work hard for a salary that is substantially less compared to other professions requiring the same about of education and training because it is a job they do from the heart.

So please support teachers. They are doing the work to educate the next generation and we need them.
