Ever wonder why the skin removed during an abdominoplasty looks like a butterfly or bowtie?

There’s a reason for that.

When I perform a tummy tuck, the excess skin is carefully marked and removed in a curved, symmetrical pattern. Designing the tissue this way allows me to bring the remaining skin together smoothly, creating a flatter, more natural contour across the abdomen.

That “butterfly” shape also helps distribute tension evenly along the incision and allows the final scar to sit low and well concealed along the bikini line.

Let’s talk about capsular contracture.

This patient originally had her breast augmentation performed by another surgeon and came to us after developing firmness, distortion, and discomfort.

Over time, the body can form a tight capsule of scar tissue around an implant — which can change the shape, position, and feel of the breast.

In this case, revision surgery with implant exchange restored a softer, more natural contour and improved symmetry.

And, ladies and gentlemen, this is why you won’t be getting a brow lift done in my practice. Occasionally they look good. Even his probably could have been it if was done very subtly. But the unfortunate truth is that most of them end up looking like the villain from the Saw movies just got a re**al exam that he wasn’t expecting.
