Isolation is not accidental in emotionally abusive dynamics.
When someone slowly distances you from friends, family, or outside perspective, it creates confusion…And confusion creates self-doubt. It happens slowly over time. One night they make you feel bad for hanging out with friends and the next thing you know it’s a fight every time you want to spend time with your friends, so you just give up on going out. That was their plan all along, to wear you down enough that you’d give up.

Over time, you start questioning your own reality instead of questioning their behavior. That doubt is what keeps the cycle going. You start to think you’re crazy and before you know it, you’re in a very unhealthy situation.

Healing doesn’t start with having all the answers. It starts with safe connection. It starts with one conversation with a friend or a therapist letting you know that behavior is not okay. It starts with not carrying it alone anymore.

If this resonated, let this be your reminder that reaching out is not weakness. It’s how you get your life back.

March feels like expansion for me! Here are 5 things I’m intentionally pouring into this month as a therapist who believes healing is both clinical and sacred:

1. Hosting a space for women to connect, not perform. My women’s networking event isn’t about elevator pitches and forced small talk. It’s about real conversation, collaboration, and growth.

2. Guiding foundational healing. Going back to the roots. Helping people understand their patterns, their nervous system, and the stories that shaped them so they can build something stronger.

3. Holding space for Survivor’s Circle. A monthly support group for women navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. This one is personal, powerful, and deeply needed.

4. Preparing for Jaguar Journey. Refining the experience, strengthening the container, and making sure every woman who walks into that space feels both challenged and supported.

5. Doing my own work. Starting my Munay Ki classes and continuing to evolve as a clinician and as a human. I don’t believe in guiding others somewhere I’m not willing to go myself.

Being a small business owner teaches you very quickly how much community matters! Most of us aren’t expecting people to buy everything we offer or show up to every event. What we do notice, though, is who consistently supports us in simple ways. A like. A comment. A share. A referral. Even just a text that says, “I’m proud of you.”

It’s easy to assume those small actions don’t make a difference, but they truly do. When you’re building something from the ground up, especially as a woman in business, encouragement and engagement go a long way. It’s not about pressure. It’s about awareness and intention.
