We go into homes where a recent overdose has occured and offer treatment & support to those struggling with a Substance Use Disorder, and their loved one's. PROJECT RECONNECT'S MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is for citizens and community organizations to work together to provide continuous care for an individual suffering from substance abuse disorder who's recently overdosed and to connect them and their loved ones to needed services in or around Fall River who will provide assistance and support for them to begin & maintain recovery. Our Recovery Connection Team provides hope and resources without judgment or bias to see to it that no addict be left behind. Project Reconnect is a collaborative effort made up of individuals representing several organizations throughout the community, including but not limited to, Fall River Police Department-(Sgt. Burt, Christine Matton, & 11 dedicated police officers), Fall River City Hall- (Mayor Coogan & Niki Fontaine, Homeless & SUD Advocate), Fall River EMS- (Beth Faunce & Jennifer Rodriques), Recover Fall River- (Laurie Godwin), Essentia' Wellness- (Barbara Fontaine LMHC), Mary Chapman LMHC, Seven Hills, SSTAR, Carl Sawejko who donated a phone line and live answering service, Blount who donated hugs not drugs bags for children of addicts, with many others looking to join the fight. We send 2 teams of 3 out to the homes of individuals and families where a recent overdose has occured and offer treatment, support, and assistance by any means necessary. In just 2 months Project Reconnect has already had tremendous success. We've gotten people into detox, signed them up for Medically Assisted Treatment, connected them to Recovery Coaches, Clinicians, and 12 step fellowships. Others have enrolled in IOP (Intensive Out Patient,) and trauma support groups. Family members have began their own support groups and remained in contact with us. We believe that NO addict should be left behind or made to feel like they don't matter, and that ANY addict can recover from this disease one day at a time. If you would like to get involved please message us. Our next training for outreach teams is April 21st at 3pm. If you would like to offer support in other ways, or have your business contribute or add resources please message also. The more of us who come together to fight the disease of addiction, the more chance we have of saving lives!
