We spent yesterday wandering through the Friendship Japanese Gardens in San Diego, and it was one of those outings that just felt great. Not to mention, the day couldn’t have been more perfect!
Our group had a docent with us for about an hour and a half and she really brought the pieces and plants to life! It was not just walking through a garden, it was learning why everything is placed the way it is and what the structures represent. The Koi pond was a huge hit for all of us! The koi were beautiful, the whole space had such a calm and peaceful feel.
After the tour, we made our way over to the Tea Pavilion and enjoyed lunch together. Residents had their pick of rice bowls, curry, sandwiches, and a few fun Japanese snacks to try. It gave everyone a chance to sit, relax, and chat about our experience.
It was a relaxed, easygoing outing and one we would definitely do again!
