Be great to see some updated research on the impact of Lyme’s disease on the lymphatic system.

As it stands research does show that lymphadenopathy can present after lymes. We know and understand what can become of the lymphatic system when compromised as cortical thickening of the nodes can occur, leading to mechanical insufficiency of the lymphatic system . With a mechanical insufficiency present and without the body able to compensate it could lead to lymphedema.

That being said, it is important for everyone to learn more about the lymphatic system and its vital place in overall health.

I encourage everyone to learn and take courses on manual lymph drainage or complete decongestive therapy to broaden your knowledge and increase your awareness. Also you will add a necessary skill to effectively treat those suffering from edema and lymphedema. Also work closely with a healthcare team as it’s important for an interdisciplinary approach.

Did you know that Manual Lymph Drainage can be performed on your clients/patients before going into surgery? By preparing the lymphatic system before the surgery, the body can help speed up the healing process by aiding the tissues to receive fresh nutrients and clear out old cellular debris.

Getting ready to teach another Manual Lymph Drainage course with the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, LLC out here in beautiful Boise, ID!

I always believe in learning from the best in the industry, and as close to the orginal source of information as possible. The shorter the lineage the better informed I will become not only as a practitioner but also as an instructor. After learning MLD and Complete Decongestive Therapy from ACOLS, I knew I wanted to also teach. The logical choice for me was to become an instructor with the most reputable school providing instruction on MLD, and lymphedema management.

If you’re not sure where to begin I highly recommend checking out the website https://www.acols.com and reaching out to the admissions department, and they will guide you through the process! Now is the time to add this amazing skill to your resume, as so many suffer from lymphedema world wide.
