Reiki I Training / Saturday, March 7, 2020 / 10am-6pm / 7 CEUs

The Usui Method: Reiki is a hands on, energetic, healing modality. The word Reiki is defined as Universal Energy (Rei= Universal, Ki=Energy). Reiki utilizes an initiation or attunement process given to the student by a Reiki Master to align and open the chakras to Universal healing energy. Through the attunement process each of the seven chakras are "tuned up", charged and cleared. The beauty of Reiki is its simplicity. Massage Therapists will be able to utilize Reiki energy to enhance his/her practice immediately after Reiki I training. Individuals who are not bodyworkers are also invited to take Reiki in order to utilize this healing energy for themselves and others. Three levels of training are offered:Reiki I teaches the history and philosophy of Reiki as well as hand placements for healing oneself and others. Students will receive four attunements.

Day 1 - Upper Body Injuries & Day 2 - Lower Body Injuries

Students will learn the benefits of utilizing Deep-Tissue, Neuromuscular and Myofascial techniques to relieve pain from an injury and help restore mobility to their clients. This course is intended for students who want to branch out into the world of Sports Massage and have the necessary tools to work with professional teams. Tatiana Tchamouroff has been regarded as one of the best massage therapists in the Washington area and has received accolades from sports professionals and athletes to artists and musicians in the music and fashion industries. She maintains a very select clientele and participates in various educational seminars and speaking engagements. Ms. Tchamouroff has worked with professional athletes in the NFL, MLB and NBA since 1996. She was the official Massage Therapist for the Washington Nationals Baseball Team in Washington DC from 2007-2012 and still provides her expertise in Orthopedic Massage, Kinesio-Taping and Medi-Cupping as a consultant to Major League Baseball.

Come in and learn from massage hall of famer Dr. James Mally! Are you looking for something new to add to your massage tool box? Something that not only feels good, but can also be an effective therapeutic treatment? Consider adding cupping to your practice. The new flexible silicone massage cups makes cupping much easier to do. Cupping is easy on your hands, and helps to release adhesions and prepare your clients for deeper work. Cupping is especially powerful when combined with movement such as soft tissue release techniques. Most massage work involves compressing tissues, whereas cupping gives lift to the tissues. Using lotion or gel, you can slide the cups, lifting the skin and superficial fascia up from the underlying tissues. In this workshop we will look at the history of cupping, cover cautions and contraindications, and explore the various ways that cups can help your clients and enhance your practice.
