Starting something new that you can do each holiday season can be exciting and inspiring, and give you another reason to be connected to the present moment instead of distracted or overwhelmed.

You don’t have to make it super complicated or hard for yourself, just try to think of things that would make you feel excited to celebrate this year.

One way is to slow down and try to stay in the present moment, so you can actually take in the holidays instead of watching them rush by. Mindfulness has many benefits, not just helping you enjoy the holidays, but this is one way that mindfulness can help you make the most of your end of year celebrations.

If you’re looking for ways to slow down the holiday rush this year so you can actually enjoy yourself, read them on our blog! https://www.hope-wellness.com/blog/how-to-be-more-present-during-the-holidays

Do you find it hard to slow down and really enjoy the holiday season?

You’re not alone! The holidays are an incredibly busy time of year, where you are expected to keep up with the demands of work, family, friends, community, while still celebrating and enjoying everything happening around you. That’s a tall order, and there’s only so much time to do it all in!

With all of this going on, it can be tricky to stay present and really enjoy what’s happening around you during the holiday season. It’s hard enough to stay present and mindful during non-holiday times of year, after all.

However, slowing down and taking the time to really enjoy each moment can be a real gift to yourself this year.

While some people are identified as neurodivergent in childhood, for others it isn’t until they’re adults. This is known as late diagnosis, and there’s a variety of reasons why it happens.

One reason why it may seem like more people are neurodivergent these days is because historically, neurodivergence has been under-recognized and underdiagnosed, especially in groups that have been marginalized.

The concerns we have about what’s coming can bring us closer to our communities, who share those fears. As humans, we are social creatures, and we crave being with others. We often find strength, resilience, and support in others, and building connections with other people can help us feel like there is more good in the world than bad.

Health anxiety is all consuming, so sometimes the only thing you can do is distract yourself to stop feeling the distress. Distraction can sometimes lead to avoidance, but in the case of health anxiety, it gives you something else to do instead of spiral while you wait for answers.
