✨ Yesterday, our team hosted our monthly workshop at Lorton Community Center, where we had the privilege of speaking with seniors on this month’s topic: Lung Cancer 🫁💙. August is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and we were honored to share information on prevention, early warning signs, and why early detection truly saves lives.

One of our attendees, a proud Lung Cancer Survivor, shared her story and expressed how meaningful it was that we covered not only prevention but also the importance of recognizing symptoms early. 💪

Another powerful and impactful workshop in the books! This time we focused on Heart Health — covering topics like heart disease, statins, healthy lifestyle tips, and how to properly use a blood pressure machine.
📈 We had one of our highest turnouts yet with 71 attendees, including so many men from the community — such a win for community engagement!

✨ Part II of our Women’s Cancer Prevention & Screening workshop series was a beautiful success! ✨

Over 30 Afghan refugee women joined us to review key topics like mammograms, self-breast exams, and cancer treatment options. We were so inspired to hear that every woman in attendance had performed a self-breast exam since the last session — and shared the knowledge with loved ones 💗
