Hands On Your Health provides a total mind/body approach to your physical and emotional wellness.

Yael is attuned in USUI/Tibetan Reiki Ryoho, at the Master Level. She is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals and a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Health and Military & Veteran Services, with a special interest in Traumatic Brain Injury & PTSD, trauma, chronic illness, injury and recovery. Katie is a passionate and compassionate artist and future art therapist, currently completing her Master’s degree in Art Therapy at Saint Mary’s of the Woods College. With a deep understanding of the healing power of art and the mind-body connection, Katie is focusing on using Cognitive Behavioral Art Therapy (CBAT) to support individuals coping with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other trauma-related challenges, as well as using a person-centered approach. She is particularly drawn to helping individuals reclaim their sense of self and peace after trauma, using creative therapeutic techniques to foster emotional and cognitive healing.
In addition to her academic training, Katie has been involved in art therapy internships at Walter Reed National Medical Center and Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, and volunteering and facilitating art groups with children, adolescents, and adults at Sitar Arts Center in Washington, DC and the USO at Fort Belvoir. Having worked with diverse populations, Katie brings empathy, patience, and a collaborative approach to her therapy practice. She is committed to providing a safe, nurturing space where clients can express themselves without judgment, using art to reframe their personal stories and begin the journey to emotional resilience.

More About Yael

Yael is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Health and Military & Veteran Services, with a special interest in Traumatic Brain Injury & PTSD, trauma, chronic illness, injury and recovery. Attuned in USUI/Tibetan Reiki Ryoho, at the Master Level. She is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals. Yael is currently practicing psychotherapy and therapeutic Reiki at the Falls Church Wellness Center as a Resident Counselor and Reiki Master and is trained in EMDR and Alpha Stim.

Yael currently works with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Memberships include, International Association of Reiki Professionals, National Association of Social Workers, Brain Injury Association of Virginia, Team Rubicon, 22Kill, and is the Founder of Treats 4 Our Troops a national organization supporting deployed troops, wounded veterans and their families and is passionate about serving those that serve. Who we are & What we do

Yael is a Clinical Social Worker & graduate of the University of Southern California School of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Clinical Health and a sub concentration in Military & Veteran Services. Areas of focus are in Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress, Trauma, Addiction, Chronic Illness, Anxiety, Transition, Pain Management, Sleep Hygiene, Self Harm, Suicidality, Rehabilitation and Recovery.

Attuned in USUI/Tibetan Reiki Ryogo at the Master Level, Yael integrates Therapeutic Reiki (Threiki) into her practice at the Falls Church Wellness Center.

Additionally, Yael is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) for grief and trauma and Alpha Stim for anxiety and pain management.

Individual Therapy

Client centered empathetic, judgment free approach with all clients to create an emotional wellness path that meets your individual needs & personal goals for adolescents and adults.

Couples Therapy

We meet you and your partner where you are to improve communication and intimacy, providing you both with effective and appropriate tools to improve all aspects of your relationship.

Group Therapy

Various groups to be announced on an ongoing basis. Previous groups have focused on Grief, Veterans, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cancer Survivors and Care for the Caregiver
