And that’s a wrap on National Skilled Nursing Care Week 2026, folks! 🎬👏 Day 6 of NSNCW at Falls City Care Center was a great day from start to finish!

Our morning started out with a Volunteer Appreciation to celebrate our wonderful volunteers here at FCCC! We treated our awesome helpers to Keller Bakery donuts and an outstanding music performance from the super talented Falls City High School choir students led by the always amazing Alisha Sutton. Thank you so much to our performers and all the wonderful volunteers we honored today!

As we ‘rolled’ into lunch, many of us ‘rolled’ outside to eat in the gazebo. Our special meal of the day was a delicious BBQ meal catered by someone who might look a bit familiar…👀Shoutout to Jeff Fankhauser for serving us up the best pulled pork we have ever had! Also thanks to our wonderful staff for making all the sides, toasting buns, and making soft-serve banana splits for dessert.

We stopped to snap a quick staff photo of our NSNCW themed shirts in the early afternoon, and then it was onto Petey’s Pet Parade. Some of the cutest dogs around came to visit and tromp down the halls to say hello! Thank you to all the precious pooches and their families for coming out!

Hello from Day 5 of NSNCW at Falls City Care Center! Whoop whoop! 🙌 It was another day full of fun and smiles.

We took a guys fishing trip to Staton’s Lake to kick off our outings for the summer and Ben caught a nice fish! Thank you to Todd Chapple always volunteering to help us fish, and shout out to our very own maintenance man Jeff Frederick for lending a hand!

Lunch was 🎶a-maz-ing🎶 because we welcomed back Mother Talisa's Wood Fired Pizza again this year! Thank you to the Mother Talisa’s crew and our own staff who made sure our residents and staff all got their very own customized pizza.

We unlocked our inner artists in the afternoon thanks to Cheryl “Tootie” Ebel from Heartland Fine Arts Gallery, who was back by popular demand to teach another great painting class! The residents painted a wonderful flower canvas to match the NSNCW theme ‘Moments in Bloom’. We love you, Tootie!

Wowza! Day 4 of NSNCW was another crazy, fun day! We might be biased, but Falls City Care Center has some of the best residents in the entire world. ❤️ The day was full of fun jokes and teasing. 😉

Starting off the morning with Sally and Becky from The Mane Attraction was an absolute blast! Thank you so much ladies for the beautiful manicures!

We kept the good times rolling into lunch with our monthly Waffle Wednesday, which is always a crowd favorite! Thank you dietary team!

The afternoon activity was another NSNCW themed activity with our ‘Moments in Bloom’ bouquet arranging. These ladies made the most beautiful flower arrangements to add some color to their space.

Day 3 of NSNCW at Falls City Care Center was a blast! It was another full day, starting with the musical stylings of the ever talented Tim Javorsky. The residents loved clapping and singing along. Of course, he made sure to sing Happy Birthday to Norma!

After his wonderful serenade, the staff and residents enjoyed FCCC’s famous homemade chicken noodles. Shoutout again to our awesome dietary staff: You never disappoint!

The afternoon brought us to “Bingo with a Business”, and the wonderful crew at W7 Design Co. came to help us play. We had the best time with these wonderful ladies, and they brought the residents some amazing prizes! Thank you so much to Nicole and her staff!

Happy Day 2 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week!

It was another action packed day full of fun, starting with an official kick off celebration with a proclamation from our fearless leaders: Administrator Chris Young and Resident Council President Susan Pearce. We had a wonderful first activity with our Thumbprint Blooms, which will become part of our official NSNCW ‘Moments in Bloom’ art piece!

Lunch was brought to us by our super cool dietary team, who worked tirelessly to handroll homemade burritos and fry some amazing funnel cakes for dessert!

The afternoon brought sunny skies and perfect temperatures to head outside and plant our garden for the year! Shout out to Milam's Greenhouse for the superb plants. 🌱

We had a a wonderful start to National Skilled Nursing Care Week while celebrating all of the wonderful moms that we have here with us.
The day started with a Mother’s Day church service and corsages for all the ladies
Next, we kept the party going in the afternoon with Mother’s Day margueritas, music, and chips and salsa!

For the past couple months, Falls City Care Center has had the honor of hosting Southeast Community College LPN nursing students for clinical rounds as part of their studies.

Upon completion of their rounds here at FCCC we celebrated with a mini ceremony in the dining room, complete with t-shirts aptly stating “I Survived Clinical Rounds at Falls City Care Center” good luck to these fine ladies in their upcoming nursing journey.

It has been a super amazing, action-packed, fun-filled, fantastic past few weeks here at Falls City Care Center. As we gear up for our upcoming National Skilled Nursing Care Week, we wanted to shoutout to some very awesome staff and visitors who make everyday special here at FCCC!

Special thanks to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for joining us for Saturday bingo and bringing prizes AND ice cream. We had so much fun!
