At Jonesbrook we enjoyed the beautiful weather last week with a picnic lunch outdoors during Assisted Living Week. We brought in fried chicken and made resident's choice sides to finish off the meal. Potato salad, broccoli salad, deviled eggs, and melon. It was the perfect picnic meal! We also had a special visitor -Kayce Meyers two month old son of our staff member Skyleigh Meyers and her husband Zeb. Our residents and staff love Kayce's visits!

As part of our Assisted Living Week activities we had a Jonesbrook Donut Factory! Our staff mixed up and fried the donuts. Our residents- of whom many are fabulous cooks in their own right, frosted and topped the donuts. Everything from classic chocolate donuts with chocolate frosting and peanuts, to frosted buttermilk and maple and bacon topped buttermilk donuts. Look at those trays of donuts, almost 8 dozen of them. And of course we all had to do a taste test when we were all done, Yum!

We enjoyed our resident garden this summer which produced onions, green beans, tomatoes, cantaloupe, peppers, watermelons, cucumbers etc. Sadly the garden reached it's end for the season. Isn't this the cutest watermelon ever?
