🌻🌿✨ There's a little witch in all of Us ✨🌿🌻

Can you believe Summer is almost over? How this year has flown truly. This month my little witchling turns 4 and starts preschool and I'm finding myself wondering how did we get here? Already?! It's true when they say the time passes faster and faster as you grow. It seems like only yesterday I was just a kid myself wishing to grow up and while I don't long for something different, I do get caught up in the nostalgia of it all.
When being grown up felt so far away and time seemed to pass at a snails pace. Oh how that has changed. One of my desires this year was to be more present. Soak up more moments, do what I love, persue my passions, be with my family, adventure more and embrace the wonder but even so, time really does fly by doesn't it?

The garden has been very abundant as move into harvest season. Our tomatoes are ripening, pumpkins and squash are growing and the blackberry bushes are overflowing! Our chickens have finally seemed to mesh with our new additions this year and are getting along well. My experimentation with some new flowers this year has gone well also! Overall it's been a very fruitful garden season and there's still much more to come.🤗

Spent our Wednesday in the mountains.⛰️🥞
We ventured north today to one of our favorite pancake spots complete with beautiful views and a trail filled with bear tracks and blueberry bushes. We finished the trail with fresh picked berries in hand and despite the heat, it was a perfect day.🫐

Incantation writing is one of my favorite ways to exchange energy with my spell work. Whether I am sewing by hand or working with my machine I like to repeat phrases, affirmations, and rhymes such as this one that help to imbue whatever I am crafting with the energy of my intention.
Not only is the physical act of crafting enchanting your project, but the consistent thought form being spoken out-loud adds an extra boost and helps me to feel extra connected to whatever I am working on.

This incantation is one for protection and safety that can be spoken over sachets, clothing, quilts, wall hangings, or whatever it is you may be crafting for your cottage and for the inhabitants of your space.❤️

Happy Crafting🪡🧵

The Magic of Home🏠✨🌿
Cottage witchcraft allows us to bridge the gap between mundane and magical. It urges us to cultivate a deeper relationship with the tasks we are already working to achieve each and every day. It brings enchantment to our daily lives and promotes a more intentional way of living. It shifts our perspective and opens the door for us to create a more magical existence in all that we do!

Japanese Knotw**d 🌿

A plant spirit I am very familiar with. About a year and a half ago I was bitten by a tick and diagnosed with Lyme disease. A few weeks later, my doctor prescribed me with antibiotics for 4 weeks. I took them and they helped! As I suspected they would. My doctor did say that I may have lingering side effects from the Borrelia Burgdorferi bacteria because the antibiotics are not meant to treat long term, and that they could not provide me with more without compromising other areas of my body. He was right. While I finished my treatments I still didn't feel good. I was having consistent symptoms and felt like my head was going to explode from the pain. I began to search for herbal remedies to sooth the symptoms I was feeling. I didn't find much study on any plants in the treatment of Lyme disease, except one, Japanese knotw**d.

I've spoken before how in my craft I have often come across plants that present themselves. Plants I never noticed before out always coincide with something I may have been experiencing, or may aid in whatever is happening. Knotw**d was one of them. I began taking Japanese knot w**d supplements in the form of a powder daily with the okay from my doctor, and today I can say my Lyme disease is in remission. Not only that, I found at that time that this plant grows abundantly in my own back yard! We know eachother well, and I am ever so thankful for this plants healing in my life.
This post is not to tell you what to take or how to take it. I worked with my physician entirely when working with this plant and I suggest the same! However, I did want to highlight this beauty and how much this plant has changed my life.

The bees also love to turn to knotw**d in the early autumn when blooms are present. Especially when most plants have ceased their blooms. The blooms provide a potent nectar to prepare for winters arrival. It also produces a lovely flavored honey 🍯

A flu bug and thunderstorms have me wanting nothing more than to just curl up with a book and disappear from the world. 📖 Something I have really tried to work on this year is the pressure I feel to produce. I am someone who has always been hard on myself for taking breaks, not finishing things fast enough, or not doing enough, especially in regard to my practice. It's taken me time to realize that nobody is pushing me as hard as I push myself. I need to be more gentle and gracious with what my mind and body need. Finding ways to feel accomplished and connected, while still honoring each and every cycle I experience. Today I may not have the energy to do a spell or spend time in the garden, but I can still nurture my craft with some tea and a little reading, and that is enough.

June🌿🍓🐓🫑
June has been good to me. It was busy, but rewarding. We finished our garden, built our chicken coop and got them set up in their new space. I also reopened my shop which l've missed a lot. I have been feeling like myself again. I have been feeling creative and inspired for the first time in a long time. I have also been connecting with the season of Summer in a new way, finding moments of solace and quiet to really embrace all it has to share with me. These photos are some of those small moments of joy and gratitude. 🤍

Welcome to the Witch's Garden 🪴
The garden has been incredibly successful so far! we had a small mishap with the chipmunks and our strawberries, so we did have to get some netting, but the plant is recovering very well! The Yarrow seeds I planted last year have come up this year and they're looking super sturdy. We're still keeping up with no mow May so the Violets and Forget Me Nots are blooming beautifully. The real star of the show is my Chamomile plant! I have never been successful growing Chamomile and decided to not get a transplant this year. To my surprise, she seeded into an old planter bucket we were using for tomatoes and she's budding! I've been applying a little bit of neem oil just to keep the aphids away. We are just about done with our planting and will begin harvesting some herbs this coming week.
What are you growing this Summer? 🌿🌷🍄
