URGENT ALERT FOR MAINE’S H**P SUPPORTING COMMUNITY: LD 1996, a proposed law in Maine, threatens the local h**p industry by potentially banning most full-spectrum h**p products, including tinctures, edibles, and topicals. This bill would criminalize the production methods currently compliant with state and federal regulations — especially the process of creating an intermediary ingredient essential for these products.

The passage of LD 1996 could devastate Maine-based businesses like Healer and their customers who rely on these h**p products. Instead of imposing unnecessary prohibitions, we here at Integr8Health advocate for enhancing consumer education and maintaining the legal sale of h**p products in Maine.

We urge you to voice your opposition to LD 1996 by contacting your elected state representative. Your support is crucial, especially now as the Agriculture Committee of the Maine Legislature will conduct a Public Hearing on this bill on Wednesday, January 31st. You can attend the hearing in Augusta or submit your written testimony online by 8 am tomorrow morning. To submit your testimony in opposition of LD 1996, follow these steps:

1. Visit https://www.mainelegislature.org/testimony/

2. Click the Public Hearing” radio button

3. Next, choose “Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry” from the drop-down menu

4. Choose “January 31, 2024 10:00 am” from the next drop-down menu

5. Complete the form that appears on the page

6. Click the Submit/Register button

You do not have attend tomorrow’s Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Committee meeting to submit testimony but you do have submit your testimony before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning!
