Samsara Vision celebrated an important milestone last year—the first pseudophakic patient was implanted with the SING IMT®.

This is an exciting moment for late-stage AMD patients in CE referenced countries (where the device is already approved).

Late-stage AMD patients with an intraocular lens (IOL) used in cataract surgery were contraindicated for the SING IMT, but the PERSPECTIVE study is evaluating the efficacy and safety of the device in these patients. The study is expected to enroll participants through 2026.

Let’s talk patient selection. One of the ways our clinicians screen patients for the intraocular telescope is the External Telescope Simulator (ETS).

The ETS is a handheld magnifier, which provides a late-stage AMD patient with a visual experience that mimics the intraocular telescope.

It serves as a patient selection tool simulating magnification, relative scotoma minimization, field of
view, and retinal illumination associated with the telescope prosthesis.

Please note the SING IMT®️ is currently under FDA investigation and not yet available in the U.S. It is CE-approved and available in the E.U.
