👻🎃 Spooky sensory fun alert! Ms. Brianna is kicking off Halloween early with a Pluffle Scavenger Hunt - Sensory Bin! 🕸️

✨ Multi-sensory play is an amazing way to make learning in Occupational Therapy both fun and beneficial. In this activity, each hidden creature gives kids a chance to share a time they’ve felt a certain emotion and talk about calming tools that help. It’s a playful, hands-on way to practice emotional regulation while enjoying all the Halloween excitement! 🙌🏼🎃

Welcome to Interact, Brianna! ✨

Brianna is a speech-language pathologist and will be at our Grand Forks location! She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Dakota in 2024, after completing her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Brianna is trained in the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol and enjoys supporting children of all ages and abilities, especially with articulation, expressive and receptive language, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She strives to make every session engaging and motivating by incorporating play, games, and arts-and-crafts projects! She loves creating a positive space where children can have fun and feel confident and proud of their progress.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys traveling, painting, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Grand Forks with her husband, Robert, their dog, Winston, and cat, Schmidt.

Welcome to the team, Jensen! ✨

Hi, I'm Jensen! I’m a speech therapist with a passion for helping kids build their confidence and grow meaningful communication skills. What I love most about this field is building connections with kids and their families and making a difference in their lives, whether it’s a big breakthrough or a small win. I have a special interest in early language development and phonological processing, and I’m formally trained in helping children build early reading and writing skills including decoding, encoding, and phonological awareness.

I’m originally from Fargo, ND, and I stayed close to home to earn both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Outside of work, I like to read, stay active, and spend time with my family and friends.

I’m also in the midst of planning a wedding with my fiancé, Ethan, which has been a fun and sometimes overwhelming project. We’re getting married next summer and are excited for what’s ahead!

🍂🍁 Fall is here! 🍁🍂

Yesterday was the first day of Fall, and as the weather starts to get cooler, some kiddos may find it tricky to adjust to the big seasonal changes. ☁️🍁 Whether it’s swapping shorts for jackets, darker evenings, or new routines, transitions can be tough—but there are ways to help! 💛

✨Practice in Play – Use pretend play to “dress up for winter” with dolls, stuffed animals, or even role-playing. This makes layering clothes feel less overwhelming. 🎭🎈

✨Sensory Warm-Ups – Some kids resist heavy clothes because of the textures. Let them explore cozy fabrics through a sensory bin or let them snuggle in a blanket fort before layering up. 🧸🧣

✨Visual Supports – Create a simple picture schedule of the fall routine (like: coat → hat → mittens → out the door) to make transitions predictable. 🖼️🧥

✨Movement Breaks – Cold mornings can make transitions harder. Add a quick “warm-up” activity before heading out—like animal walks, stretches, or jumping jacks—to get bodies regulated and ready. 🤸🎶

✨Celebrate Success – Just like in therapy, praise small steps! If your child puts on one mitten or tolerates a scarf for a minute, celebrate it. Progress happens in layers—just like fall clothing. 🍂
