This week, our team put our balance to the test with the Square Challenge!
We closed our eyes, marched in place for 1 minute, and tried to stay in the square—easier said than done!
Why is this important? Balance is a key part of physical therapy and relies on three major systems:
👀 Vision
🌀 Inner ear (vestibular system)
💪 Proprioception (muscle sense)
When you remove your vision, your proprioception—the communication between your muscles and brain—has to work even harder to keep you stable.
This is a great example of how we can challenge our balance and strengthen our proprioceptive system. If you're dealing with balance issues, physical therapists can help!
From improving proprioception to addressing vestibular conditions, we're here to help you regain confidence in your movement.Give the Square Challenge a try and let us know how you did! 🎯 #RehabAuthority #BalanceChallenge #PhysicalTherapy #Proprioception
