Rest in Peace, Sam Gladding.
ACA remembers and honors Sam Gladding, ACA's president from 2004-2005.
“Sam was one of ACA's most prolific authors, was sought after as a keynote, and was well known for his vast knowledge of song lyrics (which could come forward at a moment's notice depending on the occasion). If I had to choose a word that many might use to describe Sam, it was beloved.” -Rich Yep, CEO

It is giving day at NDSU! Any donation you make today can go farther because of donor matches and challenges. If you valued your education and training in the program, consider making a donation. You can even make a donation in honor of a professor or staff person who made a difference to you. Dr. Hall and Carol Nelson retired in 2020 and Dr. Korcuska is retiring after this semester. A donation to the School of Education Endowment will benefit the counseling program!

Between COVID-19, social distancing, current uncertainty, and more time online, youth are experiencing increased levels of anxiety. With this shift, there is also increased pressure for professionals to address mental health with youth.
In this hands-on presentation, Phyllis Fagell, LCPC, will be sharing practical strategies for youth regarding healthy coping skills.
The presentation will cover current patterns she is seeing in the classroom and in her independent practice, as well as concrete, evidence-based strategies appropriate for use during the pandemic. Her toolkit strategies include mindfulness, CBT, managing emotional out bursts in the classroom, and so much more .
Whether you’re a healthcare provider, educator, counselor, therapist, extension professional, or the like, this live webinar will give you the tools needed to help youth build a coping toolbox.
Can’t make it to the live webinar? A recording will be available to those on our email list. Access to the recording will be available for two weeks after the live event.

About the Webinar Series
This webinar is part of a new series, LaunchSkills, focused on serving youth in our community.
To lead successful lives, young adults need a range of essential skills, such as how to use a credit card or handle conflict with a roommate. Amid the abundance of information on the internet, there is a major gap in the skillsets of today’s teens. High school students lack the practical life skills to thrive in the 21st century. LaunchSkills is a FREE curriculum we are developing to fill the gap.
