HeartSprings Community Healing Center

HeartSprings Community Healing Center HeartSprings is a nonprofit community healing center located at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.

HeartSprings Community Healing Center is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit that has been around since 2008 specializing in neurological challenges such as Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain Injury, Pain, Sleeplessness, Anxiety, Depression, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and much MORE! It was started by an occupational therapist who is still the director. Our licensed and registered professional s

taff is traditionally trained in the state of ND. Our staff consists of an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, nurse, yoga therapists, and integrated nutrition coach. With over 100 years of combined service and expertise to the community, we bring an experienced and cutting edge approach to our work. Utilizing a mind body approach in how the mind affects the body and the body affects the mind, for ALL ages! At HeartSprings, we work to create an atmosphere of caring concern, kindness, empathy, and interest -- not only for the individual experiencing a chronic illness but for their family and/or caregiver. HeartSprings has a faith-based foundation serving out of the spirit of love -- or what we call "Love Made Visible."

Dear Friends of HeartSprings,

It is with a full but conflicted heart I write to tell you that HeartSprings Community Healing Center will be closing its doors as of December 31st, 2024.

It was after much soul searching that the board and I determined it was time to close. Ever since COVID, it has been difficult to recover and living in the struggle is NOT where I want to be spending my time or energy. It is difficult to say good-bye to a very large and precious part of my life’s work!

However, in closing this door, I am filled with gratitude to all the practitioners over the years who believed in a holistic, integrative treatment of the human being which is essential for healing! To Michelle Gelinske, Tremble Clefs choir director, and Lexie Rundquist, our brain injury studio artist—thank you for your creativity, passion, and the joy you’ve brought to the HeartSprings community. I am especially grateful to Barbara Edin, PT (my co-pilot), Gwen Frasse, RN (who was here even before HeartSprings officially started) and Cammie Lamey, yoga therapist for their years of support and encouragement!

In closing this door, I am thankful for all our clients who have filled us with
memories, and hopefully yours with lots of fun, good eats, singing, playing,
laughing, and hopefully healing. Thank you for these opportunities to serve you! In closing this door, I say thank you to all our board members, past and present, for nurturing a dream of a one-of-a-kind holistic healing center for over 17 years. Your enthusiasm and volunteer time has made this vision of healing a possibility and I thank you with a full heart!

But, as the old adage goes when a door closes a window opens and right now our staff is looking at their ‘new’ windows and what will come next. We aren’t done yet!

Look for our next e-mail in December that will outline our future ideas and where everyone will be.

With a heart full of joy as we anticipate the future!

Jan, Barbara, and MaryJo
