"CHRONIC LUNG CONDITION"
Last October we nearly lost our beautiful daughter, Rhiannon.
My 27-year-old warrior princess has a chronic lung condition, and has it bad enough that, at times, she has collapsed on the footpath out the front of the house waiting for an ambulance 🚑. She had been in hospital many, many times but this time, in October, was very different. When she got to hospital, her oxygen levels measured 75%. She stared at a small dot on the wall for five hours – that was all the brain capacity she had. That night she had a terrifying attack. The doctors could do nothing except hold her hand and tell her just that there was nothing else they could do for her.
Ventolin and Atrovent nebulisers every 5 minutes; she’d been given cortisone twice orally throughout the day, as well as two cortisone shots via canula within a few hours. The doctors had thrown everything at her but she was terrified, and she was fighting for every breath. Four days and multiple attacks later, they had her lying prone in a dark room, curtains drawn, with nothing whatsoever that would raise her adrenalin – this would have been detrimental due to the meds that she had been given having the risk of spiking her adrenalin and worsening her condition with any stimulation. Not even her adored 2-year-old son could visit. Just me – her mum.
When I rang to cancel a business meeting that afternoon with Maria, she said, without hesitation, that she had something that would help, and would come straight to the hospital (1½ hours away)🙏. We were desperate and would try anything at that stage. When she arrived, Maria sprayed Rhiannon’s face with the liquid, put the rub on her chest, front and back, and gave her constant sips of the liquid.
After 45 mins, Rhiannon asked for the curtains to be pulled back. Another 30 minutes and she asked to be propped up. Another 20 minutes or so and she was sitting up in bed, unassisted – no wheezing‼️
My princess warrior was back! ❤️
She burst into tears. She had never met Maria, but she threw her arms around her and said over and over, “Thank you thank you… I am so grateful, I was so scared.”
The nurse came in to take her obs – her oxygen levels were 96%, and they discharged her the next morning – five days after being admitted. She has since lost 10 kilos, goes to the gym most days in her lunch break, and is healthier and happier than she has ever been.
I never want to live that week again. And we never will, I believe this has changed our lives. We are all converts in our house! Even the 2-year-old – loves his ‘magic-water’.
Huge thanks to Maria – now a treasured friend and trusted business mentor!

Edit update: Rhiannon and I have been completely overwhelmed by all your heartfelt comments and wishes! Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. Love from us, to all who are on this journey, or those on their own path to healing and discovery. ❤️🌈🙏💦"
