Square One Rental Kitchen & Events Square One is a shared-use kitchen and business incubator in Fargo offering a rental kitchen, cooking classes and food start up education.

Let's start something! Square One offers commercial kitchens that are rented out by the hour. This provides start up businesses the opportunity to follow their passion without the major expenses of starting their own commercial kitchen. The kitchens at Square One are perfect for caterers, bakers, canning, packaging, etc. The kitchens are also available for public use on weekdays during regular business hours. They are perfect for when you are making food for large events - graduation open houses, parties, etc, but you would love more kitchen space and storage. Square One offers hourly rates for public use. Large commercial ovens and dish washing equipment will increase your efficiency drastically and you don't have to make a mess at your home! We also offer numerous cooking and baking classes! These include cooking and baking basics, advanced courses, cooking with your kids, team building classes, private parties for showers, bachelorette parties, birthdays and more! Zach and I crossed paths at a shared kitchen summit in New Orleans in 2024 and then again through the Food Business Lab this past fall.

He noticed that in the vast options of hot sauces on store shelves, chipotle was not well represented. That smoky flavor brings a whole new level to sauce and as the owner of North Circle Seeds, he was looking for a way to bring the unique produce he grows in the Midwest to tables in a new way.

Zach refined his recipe, added depth and flavor to it all well formalizing his product with bottles, a name, labels and processes. It was great seeing this product take shape and I am very excited to see it on store shelves throughout Minnesota while adding it to my eggs, soup and more!

Square One - Let’s Start Something

Oh, hey. It’s me, Casey Steele. I co-own Square One with my husband, Matt (pictured above with yours truly during various haircut stages of my life). I run the day to day operations and manage Square One. What is Square One all about, you ask? Good question!

Square One is a shared-use commercial kitchen that is rented out by the hour to local food start-ups. This provides these new (or already established) businesses the opportunity to follow their passion without the major expenses of starting their own commercial kitchen. This way you can get your business rolling, establish good practices, consistency, develop a following and work out the kinks without all the major risk associated with taking on a retail location.

Square One is a great starting point (hence the name...)! The kitchens at Square One are perfect for caterers, bakers, canning, packaging, etc.

I love to work with the different businesses and help them get on the right track and would love to chat with you about your food venture concept.
