MIGS is a minimally invasive glaucoma surgery that may be recommended by your eye doctor when eye drops or laser therapy are ineffective at lowering your intraocular pressure. MIGS uses micro-surgery to implant tiny devices in the eye that encourage fluid drainage, decreasing eye pressure that damages the optic nerve. How does it compare to conventional glaucoma surgery?

๐Ÿ”นLess invasive
๐Ÿ”นLess risk of complications
๐Ÿ”นLess traumatic to the eye tissue

Happy Halloween! Keep those little eyes safe tonight with these tips:

๐ŸŽƒMakeup: Choose makeup carefully and always patch test first. Avoid using glitter near the eyes.

๐ŸŽƒCostume Accessories: Be cautious of long and pointy accessories that may pose an eye hazard, especially in crowded or dimly lit areas. Opt for short and flexible accessories made of soft materials like foam.

๐ŸŽƒ Masks: Ensure masks and hoods don't block vision. Masks should also be properly aligned and not restrict peripheral vision. Avoid wearing costume eyepatches while walking to maintain depth perception and reduce the risk of injury.

Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Halloween Safety Tip: Never buy/use "off-the-shelf" costume contact lenses.

Contacts that have been prescribed and fitted by your eye doctor ensure quality and a proper fit, preventing damage to your cornea and possible vision loss.

The packaging touted โ€œluxury lenses,โ€ not โ€œprescription required.โ€ Mamie Gaye brought them home, popped them in her eyes and a week later, she found herself in the emergency room.
