April has been a busy month for the RRAEH Blood Bank! 🩸

Blood has been flying off the shelves quicker than I can keep it stocked this month! And here are some of the special donors who have come in to help the patients in need! ❤️

Today we pause to honor and remember Brooklyn— a true hero and lifesaver❤️

From August 2022 through her final donation in July 2024, Brooklyn gave the extraordinary gift of life as a universal blood donor, helping save countless pets in their most vulnerable moments.

Brooklyn was more than a donor. She was gentle, kind, and deeply loved my everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of compassion and quiet heroism, and her impact will continue to be felt in every life she helped save.

She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten— by our hospital and by the many families whose pets were given a second chance at life.

Run free, sweet Brooklyn 🪽❤️

Welcome to new donor: Opal! ❤️

Opal is 4 years old and loves to ride in the car and go on walks. She has 1 dog brother and 1 human sister (who she will also eat her socks!)
Opal always starts her morning with a loud morning yawn since she was a puppy ☀️

Another retirement announcement! 🎉

Dak has officially donated for the last time and is moving away from us! He donated 7 times since April of 2024 with a total of nearly 3,000 mLs of blood donated!

The Blood Bank program will definitely miss him and his lovable energy that he brought to each donation. ❤️

Happy retirement to Ada!! ❤️

Ada has been part of the blood donor program since 2019. She has donated blood 22 times for a grand total of 8,635 mLs of blood! It is bittersweet to see her age out of the program, but we know she can go into retirement happy that she helped so many other dogs over the years!
