As eloquently stated by a colleague Dr. Cooke:

Many of you have heard the exciting and hopeful news from the CDC regarding activities that can be resumed once achieving full vaccination status. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html

Please keep in mind that we care for many patients with compromised immune systems and patients who may not have been vaccinated. Thus, masks must still be worn while within our clinic per CDC guidelines for healthcare facilities.

The CDC admits also that there is still much to learn regarding the efficacy of the vaccines against COVID-19 variants, how well the vaccine protects those that are immunocompromised, and how long vaccines are effective. We will continue to maintain our vigilance to keep all who enter our clinic safe based on the most current scientific data.

If you are still looking to obtain a vaccine, please explore this link: https://www.vaccines.gov/search/

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

This simulation demonstrates why we require patients to wear face masks, as well as why Dr. Archibald wears a face mask and uses shields on her equipment. This protection works both ways. It protects patients from Dr. Archibald and her staff (they also wear masks), and it protects Dr. Archibald and her staff from patients. I don't know of anyone who enjoys wearing a mask, but we are doing our part to help protect everyone.

That's a wrap on our first week back in the office! When you come in for your next appointment you may notice some differences in how we do things, but your health is our top priority. Can't wait to see you soon! Now, I need a nap 🀣

04/29/2020

I hope that everyone has been staying healthy over the past 6 weeks. I am happy to announce that we will be opening the office to routine care on Monday May 4. There have been significant changes to office protocols in order to continue to protect my staff, my patients, and my family. All patients are required to wear a mask or facial covering. Please feel free to bring your own, or we can provide you with one for a small fee. Only the person who has an appointment will be allowed into the office. If the appointment is for a child, we ask that only one parent accompany them, and of course a care giver is welcome if one is needed. We are spacing appointments out further than normal to allow for proper disinfection between exams as well as to continue to encourage social distancing.

We will start contacting patients on Friday to get them back on the schedule. We have missed seeing you and are very thankful to each and every one of you who support a local small business.

See you soon!
Dr. Stacey Archibald

Due to the continuing fast paced changes of COVID-19 and following recent CDC recommendations, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Focus Family Eyecare is now closed until April 6th at the earliest. I will closely monitor the situation and will keep you updated on when we plan to reopen. For the health of my staff, family, patients and the general community I feel that the closure is necessary.

If you are experiencing an urgent ocular situation like sudden vision loss or significant pain, please email me at [email protected]. I will be checking e-mail throughout the days ahead.

I also urge you to stay home if at all possible, especially if you are not feeling well. Our at-risk community members need us to do this. These next few months are going to be full of uncertainty and hardship for all of us. We must all do our part to minimize the burden that our hospitals will soon be feeling.

Stay healthy and we can't wait to see everyone again when the dust settles.

Dr. Stacey Archibald

Due to COVID-19 our office is implementing an illness policy. This is being done to help keep our staff, families, and patients as healthy as possible.

Please do not come to the office or bring any child, sibling or adult to the office if they have had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:
Fever
Cough
Chills or body aches
Sore throat
Shortness of breath

You may notice that our reception area looks different as we have removed all magazines, books and toys for the time being. Please use hand sanitizer that is available at the front desk when you check in.

Please not that we will be open for business as usual UNLESS one of us becomes ill with the virus. If this should happen, we will follow all recommended actions.

Additionally, please be aware of your level of risk. Persons over age 60 and those with respiratory disorders, diabetes and who are immunocompromised are at the highest risk of significant illness from this virus. If you fall into this category, we recommend that you take steps to protect yourselves including letting us know if you would like to postpone and appointment.

Thank you for trusting us with your care and we look forward to seeing you soon.
