Hello everyone! I have received a lot of messages asking about when and how I will be reopening my massage practice. As of June 1st, 2020 I am allowed to start practicing again. I have decided to start out slowly, only seeing those that need to be seen for now. Anyone that is at higher health risk, such as those that have compromised immune systems, are not able to come in for a massage right now. My first responsibility is to ensure the practice of massage therapy is provided to clients in a safe and effective manner.

I have been busy making changes to both my physical space and how I will be conducting massages. A few changes you will notice are: masks are required for both the therapist and client, hand sanitizer stations, paperless intake forms, as well as a written COVID-19 Preparedness plan including screening for both the therapist and clients.

COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)

Governor Walz issued STAY AT HOME ORDER effective Friday, March 27, 2020 @ 11:59 PM until Friday, April 10, 2020 @ 5:00 PM.
The Governor also today issued executive orders extending the closure of salons, spas, and other public accommodations set forth in Executive Orders 20-04 and 20-08 until May 1, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

The Board has been actively communicating concerns to the Governor’s office related to unemployment eligibility for licensees.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, I will temporarily be closing my office as of today, 3/16/2020 until 3/30/2020 (or further notice). If you have a session in the next week or two, it is currently canceled for the time being.

As a healthcare professional, I believe it is my duty to do what I can to help slow the curve and do no harm. Because of the 2-14 day incubation period (longer than the seasonal flu), we may be exposed and contagious long before we display symptoms, and thus be spreading the virus unknowingly.

Since my profession involves being in close proximity and sharing the air for an extended time in a small room, a virus like this can spread very quickly despite my precautions.
I did not take this decision lightly as this practice is my only source of income. Closure is currently the recommendation from my professional massage association. It is unknown how long this closure will be in effect but I am hoping I can re-open my doors by March 31st, but of course I will inform you if that is not possible.

MyoHealth Massage will remain open as of now. I am taking extra precautions at the office and home to stay healthy and keep things clean. I do ask that clients that are feeling ill or have traveled outside the country within two weeks prior to their massage to please cancel. Thank you and stay healthy!
