This the most succinct and factual summary I've read about the COVID-19 omicron variant. It's a letter from an MD and a virologist to his family about their Christmas gatherings. It's very much worth two minutes of your time as we all prepare to gether with our friends and families.
A Top Virologist on How to Protect Yourself From the Omicron Variant
I hope this message finds you and your family in good health. We have been through a lot over the last few months, and we are all looking forward to resuming something closer to our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to your health, wellness and safety. On Monday, May 18th, Governor Abbott gave the go-ahead for Massage Therapy providers to begin seeing clients again. I have reopened my massage therapy business for existing and new clients.
To ensure everyone's safety a few things have changed:
* To encourage social distancing and to minimize your wait time please plan on arriving no more than five minutes before your appointment time.
* I'll be wearing a face mask during your session and require all clients to also wear a mask. I have a supply of breathable surgical masks which most people have found comfortable and will provide one to clients who choose not to use their own mask. We can adapt your position to make breathing with a mask more comfortable while you're on the table.
* Please wash your hands or use the provided hand sanitizer before entering the massage room.
* I will check your temperature with a touchless forehead thermometer and ask a few Covid-19 related questions as part of our intake.
* New Cancellation Policy: Amid the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, I have modified my cancellation policy to offer greater flexibility. I hope this will alleviate any stress and hesitation you have about an upcoming appointment. If you need to reschedule for whatever reason, and especially if you are not feeling well, I understand and request for you to please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule - there will be no penalties for late cancellations.
* I have included a 45-minute buffer between sessions to allow time to thoroughly clean and disinfect my therapy room.
* All touch surfaces and equipment will be cleaned with an EPA approved hospital grade disinfectant between each client.
There is a HEPA air filter with UV sterilizer running in the massage room which can filter the room's air volume every 10 minutes.
* I offer touchless payment options through my website and in-office with Apple Pay, Android Pay, Venmo, PayPal and Square.
If you have any questions not answered above, please don't hesitate to reach-out. I am very grateful for your support and cooperation as we get back to speed in the new normal.
Dear Friends and Clients
On Saturday, March 21st Dallas County prohibited non-essential medical services and personal care services that cannot be performed at a 6-foot distance. The restriction was followed-up on Sunday the 22nd with a Shelter In Place Order which prohibits travel for all but essential needs. To comply with the County's orders and for the health and safety of my clients and myself, I am temporarily closing my massage therapy business and canceling all appointments for the duration of the Dallas County Shelter In Place Order. We are at a critical point in reducing the spread of the Covid-19 virus and we all have to do our part to protect ourselves, our families and particularly the more vulnerable and elderly members in our community.
Advanced Sport and Injury Clinic, the clinic I lease office space in, will remain open as an essential service treating Chiropractic patients. At this time only my massage therapy services at the clinic are temporarily suspended.
By working together we will get through this as quickly and safely as possible. I look forward to seeing each of you on the other side of this crisis. I wish you all peace and health.
This is what happens when chiropractors decorate for Christmas.
It's hard to believe that 2020, a new year and a new decade, is just around the corner. Where did this year go? As the New Year approaches, the weather begins to change, traveling begins and holiday stresses enter our lives, our bodies feel the effect - it's an excellent time to remember to take care of your own health. A therapeutic or relaxing massage is a great tool for reducing seasonal stress and to assist in the management of many health conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anxiety, and depression.
If you have an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) through your employer, we can usually use those pretax dollars to cover therapeutic massage and make taking care of yourself even more affordable. Often those funds expire at the end of the year so it's a good time to make appointments to use up those flex dollars before 2019 gets away from us.
You can schedule a restorative massage therapy session on my website at rogerrobbins.com/schedule-online Or reach me by text message or voice at (214) 843-0724. All of my sessions include a mix of Swedish, Myofascial, and Stretching techniques, with Deep Tissue and Trigger Point work as needed. I always try to provide a little extra care and service so hot SynergyStones, infrared therapy, cupping and aromatherapy oil blends are available at no additional charge on 60 minute and longer sessions.
A little massage humor.

Good article for those of us thinking about popular diets and the New Year. I think the last line is spot on, "... the best diet is not a diet at all, it’s a healthy lifestyle. Eat real food, not too much, mostly plants." https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2018/12/26/paleo-keto-fasting-diets/

One of my regular clients brought me a wonderfully thoughtful gift for the massage room. I love this salt lamp and how it adds to the relaxing atmosphere. It brought a huge smile to my face, thanks Mark!

I've been thinking about the boring suspended, drop-tile ceiling in my massage room and how to make it more interesting for clients on my table then I ran across this ceiling mural - Happy Halloween!
I'm setting up a new massage therapy room at the clinic. Got the Saab loaded up with Ikea shelving and storage - nothing Swedish going on here, move along, move along.

I worked a corporate wellness day and employee appreciation fair at a company in Coppell today. It was a fun change from being in the clinic and I got to work with several talented therapists again. We made a lot of people's day a little better.
