Today marked a significant milestone at Arbor Lake as we honored Lasha Wallace for twenty years of devoted service. As tokens of appreciation, she received a commemorative plaque, cake, an assortment of treats, and a bonus. Yesterday, the Activities Team conducted an arts and crafts workshop on designing fish bowls from mason jars, accompanied by “live” goldfish for attendees to take back to their rooms. The participants had a great experience and were proud of their handmade creations.

CommuniHealth Services in Marion organized a back-to-school and health resource event last night. We were more than happy to cooperate with and support our neighboring communities in Union Parish. The event attracted a sizable crowd, featuring various booths, games, free school supplies, as well as free Kona Ice. We are looking forward to next year's event! Find us this Saturday at Mt. Zion's Back to School Bash at the Willie Davis Rec Center.

Yesterday morning, our activities team made use of the oven to prepare fresh-baked cookies served with coffee, which were then offered to our residents, and they enjoyed a great time from the experience!

This past Saturday was truly uplifting as we had a booth at the 1st Annual Back to School Giveaway, organized by the Bernice Community Coalition and held at the Bernice Civic Center. With 28 vendors participating, the event featured games, Copsicles, chili dogs, and drinks, spreading joy to all attendees! We were thrilled to distribute 300 treat bags, complete with pencil sharpeners and erasers, to inspire the students of Union Parish. Giving back to our community was an incredible experience! It was also heartwarming to receive numerous compliments on the compassionate care that we have provided over many years to families parents and or grandparents during their time with us. We look forward to continuing our outreach efforts. Please join us at upcoming events: a booth at the health event at the Communihealth Clinic in Marion on Tuesday, Aug 6th from 5-6:30, and a booth at the Mt. Zion back 2 school bash this Saturday at the Willie Davis Rec Center. We can't wait to connect with you!

Arbor Lake is pleased to participate in the local Council on Aging's events, providing prizes and calling bingo a couple of times a month. Yesterday's bingo event, attended by Amber and Chris, saw a great turnout. We are committed to engaging with our community's senior citizens.
