Union General Hospital was proud to serve as one of the 2026 Presenter Sponsors of the Marion Mayhaw Festival, a wonderful annual celebration that brings together community leaders, organizations, local talent, food vendors, and residents from across the region.

On May 7, Union General Hospital was honored to attend the Mayhaw Festival Banquet recognizing the 2026 Marion Citizens of the Year, Bobby and Jane Andrews, for their outstanding contributions to the community. During the banquet, Dianne Davidson, CEO of Union General Hospital, addressed attendees and was presented with delicious Mayhaw Jelly by Mayor Danny Smith.

Today, Union General Hospital proudly participated in the Marion Mayhaw Festival festivities which featured live music performances by the Delta Band and Louisiana Luna Chicks, along with a Treasure Hunt, Mayhaw Jelly Judging Contest, Car Show, petting zoo, bounce houses, and a variety of food vendors servinginclude that May Southern favorites including BBQ, fried fish, and funnel cakes.

Claudia Wade, Director of Marketing, Community Development and Grant Management, represented Union General Hospital during the festival and was also honored to serve as one of the judges for the Mayhaw Jelly Contest.

We are always grateful for opportunities to support events that celebrate community spirit, local traditions, and the people who make our region so special. Thank you to the Town of Marion and everyone involved for a wonderful festival weekend!

We are excited to announce India Hill as the recipient of the 2026 It’s a Girl Thing, Making Proud Choices Scholarship!

A senior at Union Parish High School, India has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to her community, earning a 4.07 GPA while actively participating in organizations like National Honor Society, National Beta Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

India plans to attend Louisiana State University, where she will major in Psychology with a goal of making a meaningful impact in the lives of others through mental health and wellness.

Through the It’s a Girl Thing program, India has grown in confidence, resilience, and self-awareness, all qualities that will continue to guide her as she takes this next step.

We are honored to invest in the future of young women in our community and couldn’t be more proud of India and all she has accomplished.

Union General Hospital was proud to participate this morning in the Union Parish Transition Expo 2026 held at Union Parish High School!

Organized by Union Parish High School, this meaningful event brought together agencies and organizations from across our community to connect students and their families with valuable resources, career pathways, and support services.

From healthcare to education and workforce development, the Expo provided a wonderful opportunity to engage, inform, and inspire the next generation. We were honored to be among the participating agencies, sharing how we continue to serve our community with compassionate care and essential services.

Events like this truly make a difference by bridging the gap between education and real-world opportunities for our youth and families.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!

🇺🇸 A Unique Opportunity for Our Community! 🇺🇸
Union General Hospital is proud to serve as a sustaining sponsor of the Union Museum of History and Art – Discovery Place, supporting opportunities that educate, inspire, and strengthen our community.

We invite you to take time this afternoon or within the next two days to experience The Freedom Truck, a traveling exhibit celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

This incredible display features interactive exhibits that bring American history to life and offers a meaningful experience for all ages. Even more special, Farmerville is the first location in Louisiana to host this exhibit, and it is not currently scheduled to appear anywhere else within a two-hour drive.

We encourage our community to come out and support the success of the Union Museum of History and Art in bringing this remarkable experience to Union Parish.

Come be part of this special moment in history right here at home. 🇺🇸

Union General Hospital was honored to stand alongside our community this afternoon as a proud sponsor and participant at the Stop the Violence Rally at Union Parish High School.

We were inspired by keynote speaker Hollis Conway, an Olympic medalist whose message of perseverance, discipline, and purpose resonated deeply with all in attendance, along with other respected members of our community who came together for this important cause.

This meaningful event was organized by three incredible young leaders from It’s a Girl Thing: Making Proud Choices, Ava Lewis, Raylee Loyd, and Alycia Moore. We are so proud of these young ladies for stepping up, using their voices, and leading with courage and heart.

Today’s rally was a powerful moment of unity as we honored the memory of Kayane Smith. His life was remembered with love, and his legacy reminds us all of the importance of coming together to promote peace and stand against violence.

At Union General Hospital, we are committed not only to caring for the health of our community, but also to supporting its strength, safety, and future. Seeing our youth lead the way gives us hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Together, we remember. Together, we stand. Together, we choose peace.
