🏆 We are proud to share some exciting news! 🏆
Today, LHA Trust Funds visited Union General Hospital to present the 2025 Safety Star Award, recognizing Union General Hospital as the 3rd Place Winner statewide.
This award honors healthcare facilities that demonstrate measurable improvements in patient and organizational safety. Union General Hospital was recognized for its transformative “Empowering Teams to Act Fast” initiative, which strengthened sepsis care across the Emergency Department and inpatient areas through evidence-based practices and national guidelines.
Key improvements included updated sepsis policies and standing orders, mandatory triage screening, rapid activation of the Hour-1 Sepsis Bundle, real-time alerts, continuous data monitoring, and simulation-based training to support early recognition and response.
This achievement reflects the strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and rapid response at Union General Hospital creating a sustainable model that improves patient safety, reduces complications, and ensures timely, high-quality care for our community.
We are incredibly proud of our dedicated physicians, nurses, and staff whose commitment to patient safety made this recognition possible. 💙
We appreciate LHA Trust Funds for sponsoring lunch today, and Mamoo's Market and Catering for providing the delicious meal!
