Staff participated in an Infection Prevention and Control Escape Room Training! 🎢 Members from each department including nursing, recreation, therapy and more took part in an interactive training session. Our staff had to work as a team to unlock new clues before moving on to the next station of the escape room. ✨ Staff LOVED this team building educational exercise and had so much fun!

A huge thanks to Melanie Spock, Special Projects Manager, for leading the training escape room and thanks to the NYSHFA/NYSCAL (New York State Health Facilities Association, NYS Center for Assistant Living) for coordinating this awesome event!

We were honored to host the National Aging In Place Council for breakfast! πŸ₯β˜•️

Council members shared the incredible services they provide to the elderly in our community, and we were able to learn so much! We’re grateful for the NAIPCs ongoing support to families, healthcare providers, senior-care professionals, housing experts, and legal & financial professionals.

Halloween had a few tricks and SO many treats! πŸŽƒ Staff from all departments put on their artistic sides to come up with very unique and impressive pumpkin decorations. The resident were transported down to the lobby to vote on their favorite one 🎟️

πŸ† It was a close competition but in the end Megan Christmann and the Therapy staff were the ultimate victors with their incredibly detailed "Garden of Progress" pumpkin- very apropos theme for them. Congratulations to the Therapy team on doing a terrific job, and thanks to all staff who participate in this event!. Residents really loved all your works of art.

We're already looking forward to NEXT Halloween. Which were some of your favorite designs? Tell us in the comments πŸ“£

Who doesn't love a good dog?! Two is twice as nice- Meet Wylie and Willow πŸ• our new friends. Therapy Dogs are a great way to spread joy, calm nerves, and bring a little piece of home to residents. Every person they met had a face of pure joy, and we can't wait for the next visit!

Community is just as important as family! We never miss a chance to give back πŸ’— Village On The Green Trick or Treating in Farmingdale gives families in the Farmingdale Community the opportunity to don their costumes and do some safe trick-or-treating, while connecting with other members of the town.

Stefanie our Director of Admissions and Kevin our Director of Recreation set up shop on the village green to welcome visitors and we had a great day of gorgeous weather, pony rides, and lots of candy!

We love our residents, but we love it even more when they're discharged. πŸ’— Uniting families makes our heart smile!

Prior to a resident’s discharge from our facility, our rehabilitative professionals make sure they’re ready for the challenges involved with returning home. In addition to outlining personalized exercise plans and guidelines for safely performing daily routines, our therapists will make sure each patient can manage stairs and other obstacles related to returning home. Our social workers may arrange for wheelchair assistance or other assistive devices, and our nutritionists may go over dietary issues that could impact a full recovery and nurses will provide information on any necessary wound care and medication management. All this helps ensure that once they leave our facility, residents will be adequately prepared to resume optimal functionality and independence.
