Sometimes we forget about ourselves. Sometimes we get caught up in everything and everyone else.

Stop whatever you are doing for just a few minutes. Put the world on pause and take a moment to just be you. Take a deep breath, or even better, take three. Everything can be okay for just a few minutes. You are worthy.

Use three positive affirmations to recognize your value and increase your joy, happiness, and inner peace.

Often, people imagine lying on a couch pouring out their deepest secrets (hence our name, The Help Couch! 😉). While sharing your thoughts and feelings is a part of it, therapy is so much more dynamic and collaborative.

Think of it as:

- A guided journey of self-discovery: A therapist provides tools and perspectives to help you understand your patterns, beliefs, and emotions.

- Building coping skills: You'll learn practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges.

- A partnership for growth: Working together with a professional to identify your goals and develop a path to achieve them.

- A safe and non-judgmental space: To explore vulnerable feelings and experiences without fear or judgement.

It's not about someone telling you what to do, but rather empowering you to make positive changes in your life.

Becoming a parent? It's not always just joy.

Perinatal mental health (pregnancy through 1 year postpartum) impacts 1 in 5 women & 1 in 10 men. More than "baby blues," it includes treatable conditions like depression & anxiety. Untreated issues affect parents, babies, & families. Let's break the silence! Check in on new parents, learn the signs, & encourage seeking help. You're not alone. ❤️

We have providers on staff that specialize in perinatal mental health. Text or call today. 844-442-6824

Feeling unsure about therapy? It's a common question! 🤔 All during Mental Health Awareness Month we will explore the practical and everyday questions and issues related to mental health

Q: Should I meet/work with a therapist?

There's no single "right" reason to start therapy. A simple way to break it down is consider what you might be experiencing or dealing with:

- Overwhelming stress or anxiety.
- Navigating a difficult life transition (relationships, career, loss).
- Feeling persistently down or unmotivated.
- Wanting to understand yourself better and build stronger coping skills.
- Simply seeking a safe and confidential space to talk.

Therapy isn't just for crises; it's an empowering tool for growth and well-being. If you're experiencing or curious about any of the above scenarios, you don’t have to go it alone. There are people that are professionally trained to help you. Even better, sometimes it’s covered by your existing insurance.

If you're considering taking that step, The Help Couch is here to support you. Visit our website www.helpcouch.com or send us a text at 844-442-6824 to learn more about our services and connect with a therapist.

Mental Health vs Convenience - The Balancing Act

We understand you're very busy, as we are too.

As we all know, therapy is an optional approach to dealing with what is bothering us. As you seek therapy (maybe your first appointment or your scheduling ongoing sessions), it's important to consider how you prioritize your mental health needs.

Maybe your issue isn’t pressing and you are fine waiting for the optimal appointment time. Maybe it isn’t. This is a determination you have to make. We've seen many clients find that even small sacrifices, like using a lunch hour once a week, can make a significant positive difference.

If you believe that speaking with a mental health professional will be beneficial to your life, we encourage you to find a way to prioritize it.
