This will still take a bit of time to be available but it is progress.

The FDA approved epinephrine nasal spray (Neffy) for the emergency treatment of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, in adult and pediatric patients who weigh at least 30 kg.

Our office was recently notified that Auvi Q has begun phasing out shipments with ice packs for temperature control. Some shipments that have ice packs in them are arriving warm as well. Given these changes we are no longer comfortable prescribing Auvi Q and will fill other epinephrine options instead. It is our hope that Auvi Q will understand the impact on its patient base and resume safe practices. If you have any questions please email the practice manager at LMayer@theallergydoc.com.

Happy New Year

We are in the process of transitioning to new internal software. Please be patient with us as we familiarize ourselves with the new formats.

Kiosk check in is temporally paused. You will need to check in with patient engagement. This will be replaced with an automated check in via mobile device.

Pre visit details previously captured at the kiosk will be provided to the medical assistant upon check in. This too will be replaced with a text/email to gather your previous weeks up dose experiences.

Additional details will be published here and in office once the systems have been streamlined.

We are receiving a good number of inquiries regarding OIT dosing and vaccines so we are posting the following helpful logic. As always you are welcome to contact our office for questions, clarification or other needs.

OIT Dosing -All Vaccines(Covid, Flu etc)

You may receive your OIT home dose the day of your vaccine. Please dose at least 5 hours before your vaccine is administered. As always you should have your EPI with you.

Skip your dose the day after your receive a vaccine.

Monitor temperature and symptoms for a few days after you receive a vaccine.

If you do not have a fever or other symptoms you may resume dosing the next day. This should be a full dose.

If you have symptoms do not dose and contact the office for dosing instructions once symptoms have subsided.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

As we enter fall, we are seeing an increase in patients and guardians arriving to our office for their scheduled wellness or oral immunotherapy visit who are displaying systems of cold, flu or other illnesses. Please reschedule your appointment if any person or persons who will be coming to the office is running a fever. Should you arrive at the office displaying symptoms of illness we will request you wear a mask for the entirety of the visit. For patients in the OIT program if the patient is not eating normal at home and activity levels are less than 80% of normal, we will need to reschedule. It is imperative that we provide a safe and healthy environment for all patients, guardians, and our staff.

Auvi Q Notice Effective October 1st, 2022

The cost for Auvi Q if your insurance covers the product should be no greater than $35.00.

The cost for Auvi Q if your insurance does not cover the product should be no greater than $150.00.
