What do rescue animals, keychains, and 50 excited kids have in common? 🐾

A big day of learning and connection at the Doniphan - Ripley County Library where our Prevention Resource Center teamed up with the SEMO Exotic Sanctuary to bring powerful lessons to life!

Kids heard stories of healing and resilience, “adopted” their own keychain pets, and walked away with resource bags full of tools to build coping skills, manage emotions, and make healthy choices.

Because prevention starts early, and when we lead with compassion, kids remember.

Disability Independence Day marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark step toward ensuring everyone can access the care, support, and opportunities they need to live fully.

We know that independence looks different for everyone, and we're committed to providing services that help people live well on their own terms.

From accessible care to personalized support, we're here to help because mental health care should empower, not limit, people's movement through the world.

07/24/2025

We shouldn't have to earn self-care.

It's not a luxury or something to squeeze into our off-hours. It's part of living and healing. It's easier to care for ourselves when we have what we need, and we're supported.

That means:

✅ Access to therapy
✅ Time to rest without guilt
✅ Safe spaces to feel our feelings

Wherever you are today, we hope you find a small moment to feel what you feel, tend to what you need, and remind yourself that YOU are worth the care you give to others.

One of our biggest goals this year is to make su***de prevention training more accessible.

Our Prevention team is offering free QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training to schools across our region as we start the 2025-2026 school year.

✅ It takes under an hour
✅ It’s evidence-based
✅ It gives students and staff real tools to recognize when someone needs help and what to do next

Why?

Because we are losing people.
Because people want to help but don’t know how.
Because every student and every staff member deserves a community that sees them, and every community deserves the tools to keep each other safe.

We’ll work around your schedule: back-to-school nights, teacher workdays, staff meetings, assemblies. You tell us what works, and we’ll be there.

📞 Call 573-686-5090 and ask for the Prevention team to schedule.

We’re excited to announce that our parent company, Brightli, and Centerstone are formally exploring a merger that would create the largest nonprofit provider of mental health and substance use disorder care in the nation. This isn’t just growth, it’s transformation. Together, we’d serve 250,000+ people a year, with 10,000+ employees across 350+ locations in 9 states. It’s a bold step forward, rooted in compassion and driven by impact.

📽️ Hear from our CEOs about what this means and why it matters.

Three years ago, 988 became the nationwide number for su***de, mental health, and substance use crises. Since then, millions have called, texted, or chatted in their most vulnerable moments, and every one of those moments mattered.

Some reached out for themselves.
Some called for someone they love.
Every time, a trained crisis worker answered with compassion, offering hope and helping each person begin—or begin again—their healing journey.

Crisis looks different for everyone, but no one should have to face it alone.

📱 If you are struggling, please remember that reaching out for support is an act of bravery and strength. Call or text the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline anytime.

💬 Drop a thank-you in the comments for our crisis workers who help hold the line.

🖤 Share this to remind someone they aren't alone.

It all matters 💜

Therapy isn’t only for the moments when you feel like you are falling apart. It’s also for holding things together.

You're not broken. Just human.

Outpatient therapy services are available across our area. If you’ve been thinking about it, that’s reason enough to begin.

We were honored to join Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for the ribbon cutting of their new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

This new program expands local options for mental health and substance use care and strengthens the network of support shared by Poplar Bluff Regional and SEMO Behavioral Health. We're proud to work alongside partners who are committed to meeting people where they are and making help easier to access.

🎉 We were proud to celebrate the opening of our new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) with a ribbon cutting this morning! Thank you to our dedicated team and the Poplar Bluff Chamber members who joined us to mark this significant milestone in expanding mental health services in our community. 💙

Caregiving takes heart and a whole lot of resilience.

Whether you are a parent, a partner, or a professional, many of us take on caregiving roles for someone who needs extra support.

Our fellow Brightli affiliate, Firefly Services, supports people with developmental disabilities across Missouri. Their team shared real, honest advice about navigating the emotional and mental health impact of caregiving. These insights apply whether you're a professional caregiver or caring for a loved one.

Because you spoke up, we made changes.

💊 Folks shared that the medication refill process was stressful and complicated, so our Client Experience team worked with nursing and psychiatry to streamline the process. It’s not perfect, but it is already getting better.

📞 Staff shared that clients needed more privacy to make personal calls. Now, there’s a dedicated phone at our Kyles location, restoring independence and easing the load on front desk teams.

📇 And when you said our surveys were confusing, we added simple location and program info to help your feedback reach the right people faster.

These aren’t flashy changes, but they’re real.

They mean someone got what they needed when it mattered most.

It all starts with your voice.

And we’re still listening.
