Message from Chief Charles:

Here is something that has been on my mind recently. Farmington Police Department participates in a national data collection project to monitor trends and spikes in reported overdose situations.

Based on regional alerts (I mean nearby counties), there appears to be a significant increase in the number of reported overdoses, some fatal, many non-fatal in the last month. I consider "non-fatal" overdoses to be "near misses" and an amazing stroke of luck. They are also an opportunity for a second chance.

To take advantage of that second chance, BEFORE an overdose or AFTER an overdose save, please reach out for help!

We are very lucky to have Kat Johnson, our OPTIONS (Overdose Prevention Through Intensive Outreach, Naloxone, and Safety) Liaison to collaborate with. For You, Your Family, or a Friend, reach out to Kat for help. She can be reached at (207)500-1752.
