Last week marked the conclusion of this yearโ€™s annual UConn New England Regional Ultrasound Symposium directed by UConnโ€™s own Dr Jennifer Kanaan. This is a hands-on advanced critical care echocardiography (CCE) course designed for critical care providers. We were honored to have keynote speaker and leader in the field of CCE, Dr Paul Mayo, as well as an array of talented faculty from across the state.

The department is grateful to have had Dr. Bartolome Celli, who is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, present as a guest speaker as a part of our most recent Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Bimalin Lahiri, M.D. Lecture Series at St. Francis Hospital. This lecture series was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Lahiri, who was also in attendance, and who had a longstanding career within the field Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. During his forty years of practice at St. Francis Hospital, Dr. Lahiri not only had an exceptional devotion to patient care, but had immense dedication to medical education as well. He continues to be an incredible mentor and educator for our medical students, residents, and fellows. We are honored to have such excellent role models and pioneers in our field.
