As you know, we audit USDA inspection reports each month and release reports quarterly in order for the public to be able to see what is happening in their communities and so they can do their research before they buy.
We often come across issues with the inspections, much like the ones listed below. Two different inspectors were seeing the same kind of issue, but only one issued a 'direct' violation. Not only is this an issue because it shows that things aren't being reported consistently, but the breeder who didn't get a direct violation over this is now free to sell puppies in places that have strict sourcing regulations.
On top of monitoring puppy mills, puppy stores and online brokers across the country, our team is diligently monitoring each USDA inspector to see their history of violation reporting... or lack of violation reporting. From there we are able to share our concerns with the USDA in order to continue making changes from all angles.
Our next Quarterly Violation report will be released next week!
