BC 25 years later…the place that laid the foundation of my belief system of kindness and service to others, the place where I met my husband, the place where I met lifelong friends, and the place my husband and I have visited every year with our two children. As written on their website: “Boston College urges students to look inward but always to reach out—to develop their minds and talents to the fullest and use them in service to others.” Speech Path’s mission reflects this as I work to follow my clients individual paths to communication so that they can better communicate and interact with others in the community.

I registered a team, SPEECH PATH LLC, for the CT Walk for Autism and Resource Fair, hosted by ASRC @ Clifford Beers, which will
be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm at Quinnipiac University.

I would be so appreciative if you were able to join my team at the walk and/or provide a donation to this cause (link below) so that families and individuals have better access to the services and resources that they may need to navigate the autism landscape.

You must register in order to participate in the walk. Feel free to invite other friends and family! All are invited to attend! Registration is free. If you donate $100, you earn a free T-shirt!

You’ll find a link to join me below. Thank you for sharing this message with your network of family and friends. I hope you can join my team to support this great cause!

From my start up office to a better office to my best office yet, I’ve been “moving on up!!” Two years after moving into my 3rd office I finally got my business name on the building sign making it official! 🤣 Who knows what my future will hold? But I’ll keep my eyes on the prize…helping others follow THEIR path to communication success WHILE ALSO doing what I like and liking what I do.

Days like today remind me how much I love what I do. ❤️ I held several speech therapy sessions incorporating animal assisted therapy and there was tons of evidence of fun, social interaction, and effective communication! My clients are often more motivated to communicate when an animal is present. I am able to target each client’s individual speech and language objectives while having a lot of fun playing with a dog! We dressed the dogs up, read books to them, interviewed each other, played with toys, and interacted with them in innovative ways. I’m so thankful for my handlers who volunteer their time to bring their well trained therapy dogs to my office to work with my clients and I. I’m also thankful to my families who are flexible and allow me to think outside the box to help their children!

It is with upmost admiration and respect that I post about the passing of Judy Rosenfield, someone who I truly admired and looked up to as a speech language pathologist in the community. When I opened my private practice in 2017 she reached out to me and offered to meet me for coffee at Starbucks. Coming from the schools, I wasn’t really sure what it meant, but I went and I was so happy I did. She was gracious, friendly and open. Since that time we have collaborated on various SLP issues. She was one of only a few who could help me in our small little SLP private practice world in CT. Several years later, I saw her at the hair salon, and I was overcome with emotion. Being diagnosed with such a debilitating disease at such a young age is unfathomable. She said to me, “Can you believe III have a speech disorder?” Judy I have always respected you and will never forget the unconditional help you gave me.
