Changing an instagram handle name may seem like a small thing to most, but I am finding stepping into my own name is actually a brave step into embodiment, into owning who I am, and into becoming more authentic.

You see, my name has such deep meaning to me. My whole life, Alexandra, has represented something bigger, some greater purpose that I had to fulfill. Alexandra translates to “protector of mankind”. Hah, that is no easy title to carry, I will tell you that!

As I’ve worked through my awareness of this meaning, of understanding I was given a name with such a strong purpose to protect, I always wondered what or how I would do that.

Fast forward to my mid thirties when I got married to the GREATEST LOVE OF MY LIFE, Nicholas Lypka, and took his last name, LYPKA.

Lypka translates to the Linden Tree. 🌳

The Linden Tree has long been a symbol of love, peace, and healing. Sacred in many cultures, it represents feminine energy, protection, and connection to the divine. Often called the “tree of the heart,” it soothes the nervous system, invites soul remembrance, and reminds us to return to our true nature. Oh, and its leaves are in the shape of hearts, with the sweetest blossoms that fill the air on a summer day.
