Yankee Fitness Company is a school of ELITE FITNESS located in Farmington, CT. Yes, Yankee CrossFit is a school, not just a gym to get a workout. We ask you to think, to use your MIND and BODY, to commit to challenging yourself, to try new skills, to practice movements, sometimes at home. We teach you how to move your body using proper form and technique, to get strong and fast, to increase your power, to increase your endurance and stamina, to get flexible, and to move with agility. We are a thriving community of everyday people. The ages of our athletes range from 19 to 73. Regardless of your age, gender, or current fitness condition, we have a place for you at Yankee CrossFit. Meet Travis!

Here’s a little bio Travis wrote about himself that we would love to share with everyone !

“My name is Travis, and I am a NASM-certified personal trainer with additional certifications in nutrition coaching and corrective exercise. I’ve been training for about eleven years, and I truly believe that a combination of smart nutrition and intentional movement is one of the most powerful forms of medicine and preventative care. I’m excited about the opportunity to join Yankee Fitness and help people experience those benefits firsthand.

In my downtime, I enjoy working on carpentry projects, gaming, and—of course—working out (mostly to balance out my pizza addiction). I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully working together in the near future!”

What’s the single most important factor when structuring an exercise program for someone?

Eating “Healthy” But Can’t Lose Weight ?

This can be super frustrating. You think you are eating foods that supposed to healthy for you. Nuts, Oils, and Avocados are supposed to help you lose weight right ?

Well they are technically healthy ….but they are also extremely dense in calories. These foods are composed of mostly fat. And fat has a whopping 9 calories per gram! (carbs and protein are 4 cals per gram).

So if you are trying to lose weight , make sure you aren’t over eating foods that super dense in fat !

After several car accidents , and left with chronic neck pain and headaches, she came to Yankee to see if we could help.

She had already tried several other gyms that had either hurt her even more (yes this actually happened!) or weren’t effective at relieving her pain.
